That is very excellent, I dig the colours -

Was able to fix my pocket watch; watched a video of some dude putting an essentially the same watch back together and I was able to put those parts back in nicely. Still doesn't work but it's all there. Also: going to have to delete the clock forum accout I made on a whim since I sure as hell won't be screwing around with another clock any time soon.

Learned how to fix a pocket watch; and picked up some new watch terminology - Yes I "fixed" that pocket watch I was being miserable about in the What Irked You Today thread. It still doesn't work, but everything went back in great (more or less) and at least it will make a nice decor piece until I can maybe get it fixed for real sometime down the road. I feel very proud having been able to put it back how it was. 👍

The Three's Company spin offs, The Ropers and Three's A Crowd. Watched all both spin offs full series; pretty funny just like Three's Co. Also there was a Happy Days cartoon I was watching when I was younger, and the Dukes of Hazzard cartoon, Laverne and Shirley cartoon, never seen the whole series. There was a Mork and Mindy cartoon and a Brady Bunch cartoon too. A little old to be watching those shows now, but I actually have the Happy Days cartoon full seasons on DVD and would rather my future kids watch that then some of the new kids shows. I grew up watching the same cartoons my parents grew up with because of a channel called Teletoon Retro. Favourite tv channel. Then they replaced it with another channnel many years ago and there were no more old cartoons on tv since then. I remember my dad telling me in circa 1975 he'd wake up at 6:00am on a Saturday and turn the tv dial to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle.

No clock shop; just Savoy's jewler. I did in fact get on the NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) forum and showed them photos of what happened, and I have got many helpful answers already. Also got a few of the pieces back in the correct place. I just want the parts back in and the watch to be all closed up as before; doesn't need to work right now, just down the road I'd bring it in somewhere but i'd rather not have parts laying around if i can successfully put them back in.

Addition to my pocket watch dilemma; I've been kinda sad about it for the past few days since I broke it so today I am just going to have to attempt to fix it myself. Both jewlers in town charge $250 to send it away and have it fixed, but research showed that a mint condidion watch like mine, with the chain (the chain is long on on this one) is worth about $70 so mine is probably worth $40, so that means it would cost way way more to fix it than the watch is actually worth. This further means I am going to have to take matters into my own hands, which I'm a little skeptical of doing since it seems quite complicated, and every watch seems to have a relatively different mechanical arrangement than the next. On my watch only five pieces popped out, and three of them I have not a terrible idea of where they go on or how they attatch. I also have a few school assignments that are becoming a bit of a burden, but the way I see it, if I don't fix this watch I'll be miserable for at least the rest of the week so later today, I have no choice but to try again. If I could just see the arrangement I could probably put it back together, but the only photos of same watches I could find still had that back plate on; I need to see beneath that. Looks like this I need to see beneath this:

Hopefully the actual final snowing of the season is coming this afternoon. I swear this is the stupidest weather considering it's April 2nd and it's still snowing, and we still have snow banks so high we still can't see over them.

Around here, the local antique stuff and games store is really the only place to find models. About 2 or so years ago that store had nothing in terms of model kits. Then, March last year, the far back corner of the store had become absolutley filled with vintage kits. Johans, AMT's Monogram, Revell, there were tons of vintage kits. I guess someone brought in their whole collection to sell. And I got two then. All the really super cool ones had prices jacked up so high it would be unrealistic to buy the kit to build. The ones I got were priced at $50, about the norm for new kits in stores today. This year most of those outrageously priced kits are gone, and there's not too much. That being said this past January I got the '59 Lincoln AMT from '65 for $20, which was great, considering it was all complete. Went to the store again just this past Saturday, and all that's left from that original wave of stock are these really old-timey car model kits. Model kits of '20s-early '50s cars (mostly '20s-'30s) that I typically don't build so I didn't pick anything up this past Saturday. They're pretty cheap too, but I usually build anything '57 and up. However, I do have relatives down southern Ontario, which is where more stuff like that is typically found, so if I see anything listed somewhere down south I can just ask them to pick it up and then i'd pay them back next time they come up and bring the model kit (or vintage radio as i'm on the hunt for one of those too)

Just goes to show how unknowledgeable I am about the inner workings of a clock. I just hope the jewler can fix it up.
