Too much snow for March 20th
-
That’s cool to build it using those AMT custom parts; looks real neat
-
Looks good; been meaning to get one of these
-
Raining as of now, but it’s cool since it’s melting the snow we got up here.

Pretty cool day; did the first two hours of four-wheeler practical training, it was pretty rad, and then did the first two hours of chainsaw practical, neat also. Same next Wednesday then boatin' sometime thereafter.

AMT 1967 Thunderbird Promo Hershey Rescue
Falcon Ranchero replied to LennyB's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I would have to say I would have restored the 'bird as well. Though I went even farther once with a '69 Corvette in which the body had been crushed between the frustrated fists of the original builder. That should've been a parts car, but I couldn't leave well enough alone, and I turned it into a Roadkill/Mad Max abomination just because I wanted to see if I could actually do something with it. If ever you think you've gone too far with a second hand kit, remember this Corvette - if it's better than that, then you can probably make it look real cool. The T-bird looks very promising, can't wait to see it completed 👍 -
What did you see on the road today?

But this looks even nicer, whoa a '64 Bonneville. -
Hey from the Soo Ont. Canada; welcome to the forum; I started building around that time, too; early 2021. By the way that Ford sure looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see it completed 👍

Yesterday while driving, a crusty blue and white 1967-68 Chevy truck with an obscure work bed instead of the stock bed; seen it before; drives it in the winter quite a lot. And a circa 1984 GMC tuck; dark blue witha black grille; more crusty than the '67; also a year-round, usually sighted workhorse. Sits relatively low to the ground. -

It does make it quite tricky, yes; I know our local Canadian Tire has spray paint for actual cars, and we did buy and use one (for my '64 Galaxie) but it wasn't the greatest. One store we're goin' to check up on today is the local Colour Your World store, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that as an option. Paint bushes aren't too bad, i've been able to keep on re-using two particular ones my dad had since the late '70s; just keep dipping them in a paint thinner bottle and that keeps them clean enough; Plus when they were clearencing the model brushes we bought up few, and really any paint brush would do. Shouldn't have to worry about glue for a bit; but I do only have one left. As for kits; i'm not terribly concerned, since there is a hobby shop in southern Ontario that does ship them (i've got two from there already) and the local vintage junk shop has a semi-steady stock of a reasonably priced vintage kits here and there.

The local Michaels is getting out of model kits, ten fold; having now put all spray paints on clearence, and there were very slim pickin's to choose from. After that I have no actual idea where to get spray paint, little testors paint capsules, kits, or supplies because there is absolutely no other crafty stores in town or North or East the highway. Probably will end up ordering new kits, but can't build if I don't have paint. I do have quite a few spary cans, but they'll run out eventually... The search continues for a paint colour for the '63 Nova wagon.
