  1. Yeah that was already in there when I got the radio lol
  2. It is a transistor; this is the inside of it
  3. NORM!!! the Cheers gang yelled as Norm Petersen entered the bar; or in the case of Cliff Claven, he yelled NAM.
  4. My little 1962 Oritone radio doesn't seem to work anymore; turned it on yesterday morning out in my grandma's garage, like I had been doing every day this week in preparation to make sure it works to scare the bears away before I go and bring it to the back with me to have there while I haul more stuff out of the gully. Just has barely audible static now. Changed the battery and the same thing still happens. Might've overused it a little; I know I got all excited over it since it's 63 years old and still works, but also picks up period correct music. Should've just used it sparingly unless it's a restored piece, which it didn't appear to be. That being said it might just need a cleaning since it is kinda filthy on the inside, and where the battery connects looks like a previous battery corroded there once, so I dunno.
  5. I know what that's like (minus the ghetto drama). Lucky though that you're actually moving. We've just got to stay put a little while longer. Mortgage for our house should be paid off by the end of this year, and my parent's don't want another one so this one has to be paid before we can make like a tree and get out of here. Not the same neighborhood that it was in 2009 unfortunatley.
  6. Thanks; it is quite nice and sporty, what with the faux hood scoop, bucket seats and body colour bumpers; all part of the TRD Sport package, and with the new tires and 2019 Tacoma rims it does add to the sportiness. Though it is quite old, being a 2011, and it's muffler has been patched at least 4 or so times, since apparently the aftermarket ones are not the greatest. Otherwise it's still going quite strong; pulls that Jayco Hummingbird in the background quite a ways every summer.
  7. My dad got the White Letter tires changed back around yesterday, free of charge (since they put them on backwards a week or so ago). Looks good.
  8. Just hide your picinic baskets
  9. Stunning sunny day with temps that gotta be over 20 degrees (celsius); a good day to listen to some '50s-'60s music on a 1962 Transistor radio while out in the bush.
  10. Add-on to that radio; I had it on while I was out in the bush at my grandma's haulin' junk outta the gully to take to the scrap metal dump and some other things to the regular dump. Should in theory scare away the bears since they are coming out now so I kinda gotta be on the look out back there. Played some Jerry Lee Lewis, and the original Summertime Blues from 1958.
  11. Um, is this the same car? Looks like it is. I mean I don't dislike this as much as the brown version; this looking a little cleaner but still that front end is an odd choice. I guess this is it as of 2019, a full 10 years after the photos of the brown version were taken
  12. and lawyer Matlock (That's funny literally just finished watching the Columbo entire series on DVD and have began watching Mr. Monk)
  13. Pleased that my newly aquired 1962 Oritone Transistor radio (mentioned and shown in what did you get today not model related) tunes into a station that tends to play primarily period correct music but also '70s and '80s stuff. Some Huey Lewis was on earlier. Also Louie Louie from 1963.
  14. Did some yard work for my Great Uncle yesterday, saw a blue '75 Ford Truck hauling some big tool on a dual axle trailer. And a '75 Firebird, kinda brown gold colour with orange stripes. Oh and saw this through the window in the garage whilst I was there: Big Bird's comin' outta hibernation. Evening cruise downtown yesterday; saw a '78 LTD 2-door; seen at car shows before
  15. Saw one of the six known 1977-1979 Lincoln Town Cars that live here in town; this one being a dark blue four-door witha white top.
  16. Picture this, the sun is singing, the birds are shining... or is that the other way around?
