"CATS" could be an abbreviation for Cars And TruckS

I did in fact find a built example here on the forum of the '66 so I don't really need to see another, but hey if you get the chance or if it's not too much trouble I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a few more. I am actually going to have the kit ordered after the holidays so I'll be able to build one.

You're 100% right, it just gets me sometimes when I want to build a car that represents a family car for nostalgia purposes, such as the '62 Gal but also the '65 T-bird, knowing that the kits do in fact exist but are tricky to get a hold of. In terms of the Mercury kits I'd like to know too what happened to those; I have the reissue of the '64 Marauder but there was a '63 breezeway in the family back then i'd also like to build.

I built that kit; kinda wish I hadn't as I was put off it when I found out I spent $31 US on a kit which there was no engine for, but plans were to cut the roof off, put the big bubble top on that came with my '58 Thunderbird kit, and makeshift larger fins for the back but that didn't happen so the photo below is what became of it. Your plan for a Starliner is way cool, good luck.

Got off to a flying start on that secondhand '66 Mustang I mentioned twice with photos in "what did you get today". Engine is completed, wheels and tires were selected and assembled, suspension parts all painted and ready to assemble, interior sprayed and also ready for assembling, and I sanded down the hood and body as it had been atrociously painted red with a brush. Unfortunately it's -15 celsius here so spraying the car may have to wait. Rear windsheild needs to be tended to because it has glue all over it so the plan is to sand it, spray a tinted clearcoat, and cover it with clear vinyl; did that for my '66 Shelby GT 350 as it was also secondhand and had gluey fingerprints on both front and rear windsheilds. The front windsheild on this '66 is in fact clear so that's good.

i like the skirted rear end and the upward stance of the rear also. Dig the colour and the custom headlight bezels. -
also this and the very very end of it

That hard top is really nice; the reason i'm trying to find out about this kit was to build one that represents the one my Grandfather had; it was that exact colour but had a white top and four doors. Out of curiousity do you know what colour that paint on the hardtop is called and what brand of spray can it is just in case I find the kit down the road and need the paint colour

I got the photos of that Mustang I just came into possesion of; it's going along, all the parts are there except the headlights are missing but we gotta sand the body and what not. I have a really far out idea for this build, won't disclose any details...

Yes I’ve seen his 60 Plymouth, really stunning build but I’d want to build one my own way and would certainly not redo a beautifully built kit. The 60 is more of a long term acquisition for me any way also doesn’t appear on the list either anyway

I've discovered i'm getting a little irritated about the obtainability of vintage kits; namely the '65 T-bird and '62 Galaxie hardtop. Niether of their molds apparently exist anymore, and both were only issued in the '60s, the 'bird once in '65, and the Galaxie in '62 and then again in '69. Also, both kits would be considerably hard to find around here; would have to order from ebay which we're not really in any position to order from as my dad is mildly skeptical of that site. Even then, both kits being classified as collectors items because of age and rarity would yeild the collectors fee of at least over $200 which I would absolutley never spend on a kit (unless it's the JoHan '60 Plymouth). That price reflects the collectability, not the actual quality of the kit, and that's what gets me. I don't care how old it is I just want to build it. Was hoping to build the '65 'bird like the one my great uncle has, and the '62 Galaxie like the one my Grandfather had, but that may never happen because of the fact these kits are lost in time

That's the main reason I wish certain vintage kits were reissued because the originals are either unobtainium or have a collector's fee of around $200 for a kit that really isn't any different than the latest kits just that the plastic and everything else is 50+ years old. Here's a possibly stupid question, why can't AMT remake the molds; there's still '62 Galaxies driving around that could be referenced and with the technology we have these days you'd think it would be pretty easy to re-create all the parts in 1:24 or 1:25 scale

Some two dudes from across the street helped my grandma and her 2007 Kia Spectra get unstuck from her driveway; twice. Coming back from shopping she got stuck and then we pushed her out only for her to get stuck again a little ways up the driveway. Snow's been melting here via rain over the past three days so the driveway is just slush and gravel.
