  1. I gotta get my hands one one of those; I did build the Surf Shark '59, but I like the regular car one better. Yours is totally awesome, love the colour and detail. Quick question was there a hardtop model too or just the conviertible?
  2. This year's all 12 of mine were bought and built in the order I bought them. No stashed kits anymore; built them all 3 years ago.

So just came into possesion of the 2000 issue of AMT/ERTL's '57 300 from value village; my dad picked it up surprisingly and didn't look in the box. Brought it home and I was going through it and noticed every chrome part is missing; no bumpers, no grille, no hubcaps, no mirrors. The kit is complete except for those parts. Checked on eBay for the parts in question but every individual piece is selling for at least $8 and then shipping from US to Canada is $17 so I'd be spending like $70 on just those pieces which ain't gonna happen. The kit itself was $4. Would anyone possibly be willing to spare left over chrome pieces in exchange for my undying gratitude *I unfortunately have really nothing I could trade; haven't much of a stash of kits let alone individual parts* Also the instruction manual is gone; came with a decal application sheet for some other car
  8. Wow so unusual and extremely cool
  9. That's too cool; the '69 looks good with that sinister front end
  10. wow I had no actual idea there were actual songs about Toyotas.
  11. I spy a '60 Plymouth wagon in there... pretty cool.. Overall fantastic diorama, all cars look period correct, and it's really cool to see them displayed in this manner. Loved the movie, too I have it and the second one on DVD.
  12. From one Nathan to another, welcome to the forum
  13. Almost Forgot Due South's Ray Veccio's Buick Riviera, and the new Ray, Stanley Kowalski's GTO
  14. I think I mentioned this once before somewhere, but thought I'd share it in the broad daylight of Model Cars Tips, Tricks, Tutorials. A little build motivation trick I find that helps me for some reason, is if you position the box art to be facing you while you're building the model, it motivates you to finish the build. Works for me every singe time. Not sure why. I guess maybe when I'm sittin' there, workin' and the motivation's not happenin' I see the box art a foot and a half away from my face and I see the completed car or some sort of illustration; even if it's not the way I'm building the kit (rarely do I build box stock), it ends up having some sort of motivational merit. I know it sounds kinda dumb but give it a try next time you're not feelin' it. Maybe you'll be surprised?
  15. Lately been simultaneously working on two builds at a time; one arguably the very first build I did (Revell's 2015 issue of the snap tite '57 Chev) and the latest which is a '66 T bird. Haven't done two at once in a very long time and I don't think I miss it. Mainly because my work area is basically room enough for one car's parts, but even with the less amount of parts the snap tite has, space is tight. Almost had it complete last night until a major set back occured. I wanted to change the wheels on the thing as it came with custom ones I didn't want to use, so the wheels left over from my '60 Impala were commissioned and I had them all done up nice, ready to fit on the metal axles and so I put them in the chassis, and then I noticed they stick out wayy to far so the skirted rear of the wheel openings would never house the wheels. So now I have to cut off some length on the rim backside, and drill the hole farther in so the axles go in deeper, and thus, the body will take to the new wheels. The Thunderbird's coming along nicely.
