  1. I mean I just hope this winter is like they used to be- so much snow some trees fall under the weight; but last year there was grass on Christmas. Got my G2 driver’s licence on January 2nd with clear roads and barely any snow, which really was a blessing but still I like my snowy winter. Didn’t even fire up the 1996 Arctic Cat last year.
  2. The closest looking lower rear quarter on any other 1961 GM would be from the full size Buicks; based on looking at the Olds in question and a same year Buick
  3. First layer of snow fell last night. Supposed to be sunny and 3 above today so it’s gonna melt but hey at least it’s begun.
  4. Even so, around here ( the soo ) there are no model kits in the local Michaels crafts store, not even in Sudbury either I don’t think. Mainly been going stateside to get them and so the tax break obviously doesn’t apply there.
  5. Yo Stu nice ‘32 I dig the colour and lack of fenders 👍
  6. This is Revell's 2009 issue of the 1960 Impala kit. Picked it up in downtown Traverse City this past October. It had been attempted to be built, but the previous owner only got as far as basic engine components glued together, and had sprayed all the suspension parts. I turned it into more of a car that would've been owned by like a kid in the late '60s or early '70s. I robbed the redline tires off my Coca Cola '77 Ford Van, and the rims were extra's that came with my '66 GTO kit. Also the side pipes came from my 1962 Pontiac Catalina kit which I have yet to build. The steering wheel was an extra that came from my '66 Chevelle kit.
  7. It must be nice to live in places where there is no snow come this time because then the classics don't really hibernate. Up here once December hits you don't see a thing for months. But once I did see a 1966 Thunderbird as late as November 28th, at a Tim Horton's, and a '56 GMC driving around as early as the first week of March. Snow was still persistent both times.
  8. Always watched it via Discovery Velocity; that's horrible news that all shows related are cancelled. The stuff they were doing in the shows was always awesome; like the one with the Low Rider Monte Carlo they drove through the desert, or that Chrysler airport Limo that they drove around the dirt track with a blown tire; my favourite car being the Crusher Impala ('69). Definitely an end of an era.
  9. That's neat I never heard of that for the Valiants; I know there were the "Plodges" of the '50s like the '57 for example had the front of a Dodge and the rear of a Plymouth.
  10. Been working lately on Revell's 1960 Impala kit; must say it's goin' pretty good. Finished the chassis and interior yesterday; hoping to spray the car today. Been waiting as it has been rainy outside lately.
  11. I did in fact take the grade 10 automotive class and then the grade 11 small engines; and so I do have a very mild inclination about mechanical stuff; plus my dad knows quite a lot more than I do. Bringing the vehicles into the shop is basically because we have no time to do even the simple fixes (like an oil change) ourselves. Our particular mechanic is pretty cheap, too, this brake lines thing costing only $200 to replace both lines. But yes, I am aware of the fact that doing things yourself gets the job done right.
  12. (Wow what an alliteration) Go to the store to buy a new model kit every so often
  13. Wow is that ever interesting; I know there were some actual 1970 concept art of a four-door, but it never happened. Then some guy built a real one.
  14. Seen Vice Grip Garage via the show Roadworthy Rescues on TV; one of my favourite shows; do you know by any chance when the next season of that show is coming? Also really cool model.
  15. Nice set of 'Stangs; I've built the '66 kit twice; as the Hertz Rental and Shelby GT 350.
