  1. I was very pleased with how well the brush applied the paint, too; the Van's red was actually done with the 1979 capsule of Testor's paint. Though that was the last time it was good to use. Doing the Pinto the second time, I had bought new brushes, and while I was applying the paint, little bristles kept coming off the brush and stuck to the car, so I had a heck of a time with that; I was surprised the Pinto turned out that good after what I went through painting it.
  2. Surprisingly, the decals went on like they were new, which is odd because I have a year 2000 Revell model 1967 Dodge Charger (you'll see it soon) and it's decals disintegrated in the water and they're a full 10+ years younger than these decals. Some age well and some don't. Glad the decals in this kit aged well.
  3. The confusing tale of these kits started when, in the '90s, my dad picked up and built the 1966 Shelby kit. He built it like on the box, but didn't like it because he left the plastic white instead of spraying it. So he took it apart and began in a different direction, by spraying it black. He got considerably far, then put it away until I finished it on March 30th, 2021. It turned into the Hertz GT350 rental car, though it was originally the Shelby GT350. Then, just last year, I had recieved kits from a cousin who didn't really have the knack for building kits, and a GT 350 Hertz kit was one of them. I figured, why not build it like the Shelby GT 350, and so the two Mustangs were originally supposed to be built as opposite to each other, but you can't tell the difference. The Shelby GT 350 (originally Hertz) had been attempted to be built, with the interior and windows put in with globs of glue; tricky to remove. Nothing was painted, and so the tailights were glued in so I figured I could pop one out with the exacto blade. Famous last words right there. I sliced my finger with the kinfe, and it would not stop bleeding, at all. I had to use liquid stitch to close the wound. That kit was completed October 20th, 2023, and I still have a scar on my finger.
  4. These are the Coca-Cola 1977 Ford Econoline and Pinto. The Van was completed March 28th, 2021, but the Pinto was completed November 20th, 2022. Both kits were atrocious to build, but they're here. At the time of the Van's completion, I had not yet learned to put black paint and thinner in the grille, but you can see that I had the knack for it by the time of the Pinto's completion. Both kits' bodies were painted with a brush. In the back of the Van (you'll see in one of the photos) I put a bed that was a part of one of my dad's long-lost 70s custom Van kits. I had started to paint the Pinto a darker green; from a Testors Paint capsule from my dad's original paint carosel kit from 1979 (which he still has and I use for the new paints). The first coat went on fine, but the second coat was like thinner and it took off the first coat. So that paint was no good anymore, however quite a few of those paints from 1979 still work. The Pinto was re-painted lime green; a new storebought paint.
  5. This kit was another one of my dad's he picked up in the '90s. Unassembled until April 5th, 2021. One of the very first kits that I had sprayed; interestingly enough, with paint from a '90s spray can. I guess the paint was still good, because the car's paint job looks fantastic, in my opinion. This is the 1988 Monogram Shelby Cobra kit.
  6. One of my dad's old kits, originally completed in 1983, when he was a kid (see "Blast From the Past Camaro"). It was also taken apart so I could build it. Originally molded in yellow, my dad hadn't painted it, but had cut a large hole in the hood having a massive blower sticking out, and painted the hood and trunk flat black. We decided to build it the right way, for it's second life. This is the original 1979 AMT "Snakebite" Shelby GT500. The box was long gone, so my dad re-created it since he works at a print shop. The hole in the hood was filled with another piece of plastic. This kit was completed October 28th, 2021. Should've been built like this the first time.
  7. This is one of my dad's old kits. Originally completed in 1983, when he was a kid, he took it apart so I could build it. The box was long gone, so he re-created the original since he works at a print shop. It's the 1977 Monogram model 1969 Camaro "IMA Z/28", completed, for the second time, on October 9th, 2021.
  8. The only kit built in the summer of 2021, (June 27th completion date) it is possibly my most favourite from that year, but I had painted the body with a brush, so it looks sort of crappy. May or may not consider sanding it down and spraying it the right way, but here it is.
  9. Completed March 19th, 2021, this is the Revell Classic Ford Bronco. One of my early kits, the body was painted with a brush; I didn't have them sprayed regularly until 2022. This kit was fun to build, and from my recollection, everything went well with this kit; no issues what so ever.
  10. This is the second kit I had ever built. The 1986 Monogram model 1965 Corvette Stingray "Black Rat" was one of my dad's that he picked up in the '90s. Unassembled until February 13th, 2021 (date of completion). I had never knew about this site until last week, so I'm putting all my kits on here for you to see. This particular kit was also where I got my first model-kit-related injury; while scraping off burrs on the tires, I sliced my finger with the exacto blade. I think it was worth it, though. The kit is one of my favourites.
  11. This was the first kit I completed. Originally bought as a Birthday present for my dad back in 2012, he tried to show me how to build a kit, but I was only 6 at the time, so I was more interesed in how fast my HotWheels could go, but by 2021, I finished what was started, and so here it is. Completed February 8th, 2021, (I've kept a list of when I complete my kits) this Revell 1941 Chevy Truck is the first model I completed. Hope you like it.
