Any FoMoCo VIN decoders?
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The plate was on the inner-side of the front driver's door. I didn't know there was a difference between VIN and Patent plates. Thanks for the info and advice; I guess a Canadian Ford shop manual may be the only hope, but I can imagine finding such a book would be challenging. -
For our high school art show in 2023 I was commissioned to paint on a car door, promoting the auto shop and art rooms (131 and 132), and so I took the door from my grandma's father's 1953 Chevy 210 (or what was left of it), and made this, below. I have an old photo of the whole car in 1960, you may have seen it in 1:1 reference cars under "Vintage Photos of Family Cars: PART TWO" but I have it in this topic, too. The door stayed at school for a year, but it now sits in our basement, taking up space, but it is nice to look at. Never could find a way to patch that hole, but it looks ok. Made it into the yearbook so it mustn't have been all that bad.

Dealer badges are usually very unique; they also carry the history of where the vehicle was sold. I found what may be the only remaining dealer badge from a local and now historic Chevrolet and Cadillac dealer called "Boston's". It was on the trunk of a 1953 Chevy (the cars parts were scattered around a hiking trail) and one reason it wasn't stolen prior to my aquiring of it, was the fact that the car's quarter panel was resting on top of the trunk, and out of curiosity I lifted it up and behold was the trunk with not only the Chevy ornament, but the dealer badge. FEEL FREE TO ADD PHOTOS OF ANY DEALER BADGES YOU'VE FOUND OR HAVE ON THE TRUNK OF YOUR OLD CAR!

I have had fish before, but now I have Rango, a Leopard Gecko (lizard), I think they come from sub-saharan Africa, in the desert. But he wags his tail like a dog whenever he's about to pounce on a cricket (the food he eats). Here, you can see him laying on top of his cave, having a snooze.

Any FoMoCo VIN decoders?
Falcon Ranchero posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have this VIN from a 1963 Ford 300, but I have no actual idea how do decode it. Wondering if anyone on here may be knowledgeable on how to decode the serial number to get the date of manufacturing. I also have the lisence plate but that won't help; but it's cool though. -

LOOKING FOR... 1960 Plymouth Model kit

I am actually trying to find out the story of that 1963 Ford 300; from 1970 to now, I know what it's been up to- just sitting in the gully. But the first 7 years of it's life are a little murky as I don't know exactly who owned it. I did, however, find a very important piece of info- the VIN tag- but I know nothing about how do decode it. The tag states it came from the Oakville, Ontario plant, but I think the serial number would tell me exactly when it was built.

Here are some of my lil' cars. I have been collecting them since I was born, really, but one day in 2021 I had them all out and took photos of them.

Tiger Paw Yellow Stripe Tires
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here’s a question; does a 1970 Mercury Marquis plastic model 2 door kit exist? Probably a stretch -

Tiger Paw Yellow Stripe Tires
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It is totally a groovy piece of wall art for a garage, and you're right, this tire (and the other three) were probably replacements for the OEM, as the photo of the car with those tires is from 1975, about 5 years after this car was built, so I can imagine the originals wore out by that time. -
Tiger Paw Yellow Stripe Tires
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know on the other side of this tire it is also a thin double white stripe white wall tire; and I can imagine those are easier to find, but I’ll search around maybe just for fun and see what aftermarket tires are out there. I wonder if custom fabricated tires is a thing; using the old one to make like a new one out of it; I have another one off the rim -
Ford Mustangs are very popular cars.

Is this type of tire still produced for classic cars? Not that I need one now, or ever, but I was just curious if they do because I know some tire companies still make their classic wheels for classic cars; not sure if Tiger Paw does or if they do, not sure if this tire is reproduced. Just because this wheel and hubcap came from my grandfather's 1970 Mercury Marquis; if I were to make a sort of tribute car like his in the future, this tire may be a more authentic choice.

Here's a blast from the past maybe you'd remember... this is a 1955-1960 gen Filter Queen model 200A. Last summer I restored it for my grandma as it had been sitting out in the garage for a few decades. I unfortunately never took photos of it in its filthy condition, but I did do a before and after shot of the Filter Queen badge, which gives a good idea of how bad it was. I actually used Testors spray can paint, a colour I used on my 1966 Wildcat model. It was mildly fun restoring this space-age appliance, and even more fun vacuuming her house with it afterwards.

Light show Photography: '65 T-bird (RE POSTED)

I have had those little lights for quite a long time; I was too young to remember when or where I got them, but if I had to guess, I would say the Dollar Store is the best place to find them.
