We saw the car in the parking lot at the Garlyn Zoo in St. Ignace; here's the page spread. I titled it "Zoo Animal" as a pun because it's an Impala, and it was at the Zoo ?

Thanks, I appreciate it. Possibly one of my influences was the Disney Pixar movie "Cars", which also came out in 2006. I was heavily influenced by Flo the motorama show car, and Ramone, the '59 Impala. The scene where they drive through the town, with American Graffiti-esque style really touched me. As well as the heyday Radiator Springs scene. Oddly enough, I grew up with Happy Days as they showed it every weekday at 5:30pm for years on a Canadian channel, and since my parents grew up watching, they had it on while I was playing games on the ipad on the living room floor, and so I'd look up and see the Fonz and Ritchee, and those times really stuck with me. Last year, I was actually able to see American Graffiti for the first time, and I really liked it. All this heavily influenced my preference of classic cars.

I, (a Gen Z) actually prefer anything from roughly 1953-1972, which is odd because I never grew up around any of those cars, but that may very well be the reason why I like them- they're all new to me. First time seeing a '50s, or '60s car, I thought they were the coolest machines on the road today. I'd love a first gen T-bird, or any space-age finned car. I like the 20 foot long C-body Chryslers. I can imagine some kids today think likewise about cars from those eras, but maybe not enough.

Where can one find those books? I may be interested in reading one or both.

I also got that issue of Hemmings; always love to see our native cars, as there are quite a few in town. Even back in the day some of my relatives had some; my Great Uncle had a '60 Meteor, and his father had a '58 Meteor (pictured below). One of my personal favourite Canadian cars is the Frontenac, the Canadian version of the Falcon, and I believe it was the best selling car in Canada for 1960. Though it was only one year they were produced. The car featured a maple leaf in the center grille, center trunk, on each front fender, all four hubcaps, and in the center steering wheel for a total of 9 maple leaves. Can't get more Canadian than that!

Back in 2023, in grade 11 Comm. Tech. class, we had an assignment to design a magazine cover so that it looks realistic. I did a car magazine cover, took the photo myself, and designed it. I liked that enough I ended up making it a full 32-page magazine, and so Issue #1 debuted May 2023. Since then I have 3 more made; Issue #2, February 2024, Issue #3, March 2024, and Issue #4, May 2024, that latter probably being the final issue since I no longer have access to the school's great computers with free Adobe products. Originally dubbed "Old Rods" magazine, I changed it to "Old Cars". Between the 32 pages are cars I took photos of, and I wrote about them. The price on the top right of the cover is purely suggestive as I put it there for the sake of having an authentic cover. Thus far, it is an extremely exclusive magazine as only my grandma and my Great Uncle have all four issues, and my Comm. Tech teacher and Driving Instructor have the pilot "Old Rods" titled Issue #1.

Funny you should mention that; currently, my grandma drives a 2007 Kia Spectra, and even though it is your typical grocery getter, it isn't a terrible little car. You may be right, it could very well be collectible in the future; if the car lasts that long

Another thing I should tell you guys is that I put the image of the car in Google Images as it is supposed to come up with any matching image found on the internet, and no car was an exact match. There's gotta be a photo or an ad of another one in some archives somewhere; definitely a one-off car. But lots of good guessing guys, I appreciate it.

Currently, I am on pins and needles waiting for Sept. 7th because we entered a draw to win a fully-restored 1967 Pontiac GTO; hoping they pick our winning ticket!?

People having bonfires during the 30 degrees (Celsius) heat of mid-day, wafting smoke into our yard so we can't go outside without smelling like burnt wood. And we live in your regular old neighborhood, but fires are allowed, but there is some by-law (that no one follows) saying what times you can have a fire, but they shouldn't allow fires in residential places at all. Long time ago we actually called the Fire Dept. because they were burning like tires or something and the fireman on the other end said "do you really want us to come?" So we can't even bother the Fire Dept. in this City to do their job

Funny story how I know that; a few years ago I was looking through the pages of an AutaBuy magazine and one of the cars for sale was this car and the ad title was "1973 Reliant Regal Supervan Robin 3 Delivery Microcar" and I thought that was such an odd name for a car, and it just stuck with me; refering to that name makes me sound smarter ?

I just do it because I like to see my colour combinations on cars, and to try out design ideas; a way to make my cars more personal instead of buying an already built and painted model.
