  1. Great looking road runner. Awesome color choice. 👍👍
  2. I really like the 58-60 ford trucks this ones looking good. 👌. Being a motorcycle guy, that trike is awesome.
  3. Thank you both. The weathering is my favorite part on this build, I've surprised myself with it. This is the first model I've taken to this level of a build, kind of a personal challenge of my skills/abilities. There's a bit of detail painting left to do on the engine, and unfortunately I've got to fit the exhaust "in place" due to how close it snakes past the master cylinder. That one pipe was such a pain to bend, definitely easier at 1:1. Thanks again for the compliments.
  4. Progress finally. I scratch built new wishbone for the front end,a pair of glasspacks and the downpipe for the exhuast. And the driveshaft. Also wired the engine, ran coolant lines and got that installed, after running brake lines and mounting the master cylinder.
  5. Ouch man. There's a multi page thread right in questions and answers on stripping paint, most lean towards the "purple pond"( purple power I believe). Brake fluid comes up quite often,as well. I've got one kit that was started, painted with testors enamel, so I researched that thread. Haven't stripped it yet, so I'm just pointing you towards information. Good luck, this build was looking fantastic.
  6. The monogram 64 gto has a set such as these, with separate spinners. The kit is 1/24 scale.
  7. I've always enjoyed the "hunt" and dreaming up or finding a vehicle to recreate.
  8. Sharp looking galaxie. The wheels/tire combo looks good on there. Like the interior color as well.
  9. This buggy looks great 👍. Way different from what's normally seen. Scratch building opens up a whole new avenue of things, both good and potentially challenging. Just my opinion, the fit on the doors "works" with the patina.
  10. I was feeling the same way,it was probably 2 or 3 months of nothing. My last visit I scored the last jaguar and 32 ford, the Fords were hidden behind other kits. It's the luck of the draw, and timing.
  11. Beautiful Audi, very nice work
  12. That boils down to shear laziness. That's one of those situations where it takes longer to grab the correct tool, so we'll just break the faceplate instead.
  13. Definitely take it easy , rib injuries suck. Been through that.
  14. Bummer, man. Hopefully you can save it, and the tint looked good.
  15. I use my dremel as a makeshift lathe, any small holes/features are drilled/made by hand. I feel I have more control that way. I'm "old-school " in that regard .
  16. I hear that. I've accumulated a sizable stash of kits and supplies that "childhood me" wouldn't know what to do with. Now it's a matter of having time to actually build.
  17. Ollie's finally had something! Picked up the '32 and the last jaguar. Almost grabbed dom's gtx.
  18. I could write a laundry list of reasons. Peace and quiet, escape from day to day life, challenging my skills and abilities,it goes on and on. Lately I've just been content creating something I actually have an interest in, even if it's at scale.
  19. There are keyless chucks available for dremel tools. No more collects to fumble with
  20. Your picture is a stock engine bay, the other image has an intercooler(procharger) set up. Yours is probably a better picture for reference
  21. Gm might move it around depending on what it's in. I'm curious now if it's in the same spot in my truck. If any of the photos you looked at were of modded engines, it was most likely removed.
  22. 100%. I've had vision problems my entire life, and my profession doesn't help. The more lighting, the better. Using magnifacation has taking me a bit to get used to.
  23. I like the two sided tape idea.
