  1. Well, I've been in the automotive after market for almost 20 Years now. I worked at a shop for over 16 of those years installing, stereos, alarms, remote starters, power windows, power locks, and most anything electronic in cars, and trucks. Well, that shop let me go when things got slow 3 years or so back, I found a job, doing pretty much the same thing, ....and more ! Now I can add after market leather interiors, truck caps., and bed covers, running boards, lift kits, diesel performance, vinyl graphics, clearance lights, fog lights, bull bars, bedliners, oh,..... GPS systems, ladder racks, tool boxes, strobe lites, sirens, wheelchair lifts, and the list goes on and on. Most anything except we dont do stuff like plows, or tow bodies and such. Its enjoyable, but can also leave my wanting to pull my hair out. Feburary 12th 2010 will be 20 years total ! Before all this I ran errands and washed cars at a dealership. And way to many other misc jobs, like dishwashing, pizza delivery, aluminum plant.
  2. I've sold at a few shows before, and I always take a helper. One of us always stay at the table, while the other goes to the car, and loads/unloads, and re locks it everytime. And with 2 people at least one of us can get up and look around, at the other vendors, and contest table. Its sad the thieves are among us, they ruin it for everyone. Its like having to pay first at the gas station, or having the electronics in a case or chained to the pegs, at the store. Dishonest people, are low lifes, and should be shot ! or at least castrated !
  3. I'm lucky, my LHS has kept the prices around 16 to 18 bucks, he is aware of the MSRP, but knows in a place like Youngstown, Ohio, MSRP wont fly.
  4. OK, Where did You get a shrinking machine? Thats not a model is it? That is so realistic, great work. I'm not a newer NASCAR fan, but the title made me look. What do You mean prior to smoke? I assume it went up in smoke? Sweet buildt though !
  5. Wow! Two tumbs up from me ! That is a piece of art !
  6. Harry, Yea I know, when I got this computer, it came with a bunch of trial softwear, which I would have gone broke subcribing to them all, photo programs, music programs, and more stuff, some were trial verisons, some were not. And some of the trial programs were real teasers becasue they were limited use, some of the features werent usable until I paid for them.
  7. Pretty cool, I had a photo program on my computer, but it expired, a few months after purchase, it was only a tease to get me to buy it. I had some models on Photo Bucket, and they have a bunchof effects, and editing stuff for free ! So heres some examples. I hope You dont mind me adding these to the thread.
  8. I went for real, though I'm not a 100% on that. After studing the pic more, I can't tell if its a real car photo shopped to look like a model, or a model photo shopped to look real. It appears to me that a few things look "added" to trick us.
  9. Sweet build, and Cragars make any car better.
  10. Very, very cool build, great decal design! Now lets just hope it doesnt get hit in the rear !
  11. Cool, I work with 1/1s and I've seen plenty like this. And a customer will bring in something like it, and get a new chrome hoodshield, or new clearance lights.
  12. Beautiful build, You did a great job, with that kit.
  13. True Hot Rod ! Everything is perfect !
  14. UUUUGGGHH ! Looks like someone opened an aftermarket catalog, and then and ordered at least one of everything in the book. Plus the gas milage probably dropped by at least 20 % with all the weight !
  15. Nice ! you got the green for the money, but wheres the gold for the hunnys?
  16. Sweet lookin' build ! What color/paint did You use? I had that kit, and sold it, gotta get anohter one someday, I've always loved torinos.
  17. Thanks for the compliments guys ! This was a fun build, it practically fell together. the only assembly issue I had was that the side windows and the side vents, were a tight fit. I had primer, color and clear on it, so if I build another I'll make the openings a tad larger. Overall a great kit, I see myself building more of these, perhaps a gasser, or street machine, the possibilities are endless.
  18. Ok, I took some liberties in this one. I put the fuelie option under the hood, and the roll bar in side. I kinda figured its the mid 60s and a sales rep for a auto parts/speed parts supplier drives this to various shops around the Southwest, thus, its not rusted out yet. He has a some folders with price sheets and such in them scattered around the interior. The rollbar? well, it does see the occasional run down the strip. The engine is painted black, and the fan and generator are orange, ....why not? perhaps someone at the factory was asleep at the wheel that day, or maybe the current owner rebuilt the engine and used what paint he had? Anyways, the body is finished in Black and Chrysler's "Cool vanilla". I figured, yea its a Mopar color, but it looks like a 50s kinda combo. The tach was placed on the column, and I used clear parts cement to add lenses to the gauges, and over the grille emblem. I also used some on the licsense plate light on the rear bumber. Its not perfect, I scratched the roof while bare metaling it, but I have way to many kits to keep starting over on every one. I also need to add the heater, and the Chevrolet Scripts. I also Painted on some wheel weights, weathered the chassis and engine just a tad. The exhaust was "rusted" since this was the days before stainless was common. I almost forgot, its gonna have a plate from the southwest part of the USA
  19. Sweet ride, great color combo and stance. My 150 is almost ready, and very close in colors, mine is Mopar's Cool Vanilla, and Black, except I put black on the roof too. I'll post it in a couple days.
  20. Nice work, and great weathering. And a real sleeper with a fuelie engine under that rusty dirty hood.
  21. I like them all too ! But the 5 wndow is probably the fav.
  22. Great work, and I've always kinda liked this kit. I built it back in the early 80s, when I was a teeny bopper. I have the new version of it Lowrider on the box, but all the original parts are there too !. I plan on a basic mild custom type of thing. Again You did a great job, and yea most of that had to be the foiling, I'm not looking forward to that part of it. Back in my teen years I used silver paint a a brush, looked like doo doo, and wore off everytime it was touched.
  23. No great loss to me, he was a total freak ! Its just funny how celebrities die in groups.
  24. A friend of mine and I were building one night, when his X Acto started to roll off the table, so he tried to stop it, but instead caused it to flip and land point first in the top of his right leg. He pulled it out, and in a few minutes a wet spot of blood started to grow on his jeans.
  25. Heres a way Ive heard of, I've never did it though, but it should work. First turn the can upside down, and spray it till ALL the propellant is gone (no pressure left) Now, use one of those old can openers that leave the little triangle holes and open the bottom of the can and pour it into a container. I almost forgot to shake it first. You can then store it in a clean glass jar. And pour it into You airbursh jar.
