Wow, I've been intending to buy this kit when I have some spare cash,.........but now I'm on the fence. When it first came out there was nothing but praise for the kit, and now its getting slammed worse than any kit I've seen ? Maybe cause people at first were just looking it over, and now they are getting around to building it ? Maybe some are expecting too much from this kit ? I guess for now I'll sit on the fence for a little longer.

I love the mag, but I've noticed in several issues that the "Coming Events " section feature mostly events that have long since happened. I just picked up the new issue, which by the way is dated November 2011. It has events as far back as October 8th and as recent as December 11th. The only coming event is for March 10th 2012. Great mag, but come on guys, let's get this right. Or at least change the name of the section to "Things You can't go to Because they've already Happened " :-)

Another one bites the dust
kingiguana replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Because, stereo types are stereo types for a reason, and no I"M NOT A RED NECK !!!!! But being in the automotive aftermarket for 20 plus years, I've come to learn that people with certain brands, models, and even colors of cars are of a certain personality. Not always, but it usually proves true more often than not !! It just kinda works out that way. People with Saabs, volvos. Audis, and the like arent always bad, just sometimes harder to deal with, and arent always too happy to get charged more because their cars are harder to work on. But, Saabs are still ugly !! LOL -

I apoligise if I hurt You feelings, but those EARLY Saabs were the ugly ones, the ones made the past 4 or 5 years aint too bad. But I still lump them in with Volvos ( horrible name, sounds like a certain female body part ) I know they have always had their cult following, but always struck me as cars that uppity people drove ( again no offense) I know I'm stereo typing. -

Probably the ugliest cars ever produced, all though the did improve them over the past couple years looks wise. But those ones were beyond ugly. They won't be all that much missed. At least by me. -

Very, very cool. You did a great job on a not so great kit. Two thumbs up ! -
Maybe the 1/1 is like that ? Being that the skirts are so low, I would think that You would need more wiggle room when changing a tire.

1/25 AMT '76 Gremlin X 2n1 coming from Round 2
kingiguana replied to SteveG's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Gremlin ? Just remember, if You get one, don't let it get wet, and don't build it after midnight ! -
I love everything except the wheels, I'm old school when it comes to wheels, I like a lot of sidewall. But cool build.

I'm not a min van fan at all, but its a good job anyways !! All it need is a soccer ball sticker on the back, or a Mom's Taxi sticker !! Looks good, I'd have to see those headlights close up, to figure out what to do with them.

I can't wait to get my grubby paws on one of these. I hope Revell does a sedan version without a chopped top. I'd love to make a shine runner type car out of one of these. And a unchopped coupe would be nice too !

Real or Model #174 FINISHED!
kingiguana replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Model, but one never knows. I'm 99.9 % sure on this ! -
Keep it, he said he felt it was "beyond help " so, there You go. He put a value on it back then, just because he thinks its worth a small fortune now, he wants it back now ? its too late. Then on the other hand, depending on how good of a friend and how much you value his friendship, You may want to give it back. I gave a friend of mine a broken Dremel once, he got it running, I didnt ask for it back, its just how things happen. You should at least get Your 40 bucks or some other kits in trade if he wants it back that badly.

Very, very nice work !! Nice dio also, although I'd suggest Evergreen has some grooved plastic that would improve those doors. I think that would make that dio so much more convincing. And one more thing, looks like the owner needs some Roundup on those weeds poking though the drive ! :-)

I love it ! It really stands out !

Real or Model #170 FINISHED!
kingiguana replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I'm going real, even though everything (trailer and the dozer) looks way too clean, the setting looks too real. Tough one. -

Thanks, even 6 axles seem like overkill ! Must be a Michigan thing! :-) -
What do you drive?
kingiguana replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My 2002 Monte Carlo SS purchased in February. Got it with 65,000 miles on it. Pretty much loaded, I loved the heated seats with the winter we had this year. [ -

Very nice work Tim as usual. But I must ask, what is the purpose of all those wheels, unless its hauling liquid mercury or a very large hunk of steel or something. And even then,I would think that many wheels would add to the rolling resistance, plus make turning tight turns almost impossible. But ###### thats a fine looking rig, and the way You photograph Your builds adds to the realism. -
Looks very toy like, perhaps a slot car ?? I'm going model !!!
