Revell/Model King 1/25 '50 Austin Gasser
kingiguana replied to S. Svendsen's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A feature I've never seen anyone mention, is that fact that you can switch the inner door panel, and interior panels side to side, and reverse them. They have in structure detail, which is odd Revell put that, since when assembled, would be invisible. But, they also mold inner engine details too ! But anyways, the doors, can be detail painted, or opened up, with a dremel and or some cutting and filing. I think that would give it a more stripped down race look than finished button tufted interior panels. I think this might apply to a lot of the gasser cars. A few holes drilled in them too, to simulate where the window regulators were. -

Cool, at first I thought there was a super duty in the bed with that pic in the background. -
An odd configuration
kingiguana replied to Fabrux's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I see those all the time. I work installing fiberglass truck caps. and that is exactly what that truck is hauling. Some have the curtains, some do not. But it makes loading and unloading easier. -

Over 22 Years in the automotive aftermarket. Started off doing electronic stuff, alarms, remote starters, power locks and windows, stereos, and the like for 16 plus years. That shop closed down, and I now work a a store that does all that and more. I now do truck accesories, caps, running boards/bars diesel performance/chips/tuners/exhaust. Hood shields, rain guards, vinyl graphics, driving/fog lights, ladder racks, tool boxes, transfer tanks, aux tanks, the list goes on.Been at this place over 6 years now. -

1937 Ford tow truck
kingiguana replied to greymack's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I love it,....and I love seeing a tow truck with the rear axel at the very rear of the truck ! I see so, so many tow truck builds, and now one moves the axel towards the rear. Very good work here, two thumbs up !!! -
ARRRGGHHH Happened to me, my 57 utilty,...I ws rearranging shelves and just didnt grip the display case like I should have. Hit the floor and looked pretty much the same way Yours does. I started putting it back together,.....still not done. And that was back in February or March.

How not to drive a Lambo
kingiguana replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ive been seeing quite a few of the supercar crashes on the net. I think all these young kids that are getting rich from the internet are buying up these cars, and don't have the driving experience to handle them. -
My only complaint about this kit ( and a lot of other drag kits ) is that the front wheels and tires are too wide. I'd like to see more realistic front wheel/tire combos.

Not all cameras have a macro (flower) button. I have a older fuji that has a small screen, and I have to scroll down to a macro setting. Once the camera is turned off it leaves the macro mode. Also with macro mode, being perfectly still is vital, and experiment with lighting, as my camera seems to like less light with macro.

Another oddity I remember about these GM trucks and the Blazers too I believe, is that the door handles are different sizes, or the location was off. I dont have any of these in my stash right now to look. But I still ove these kits, I had a bunch when I was a kid. Built all out of the box, very little painting at all.

Your in good hands with.........
kingiguana replied to scalemodeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Same thing happened to me. I was moving my built kits back to the living room after getting a new shelving unit. My Revell 57 Chevy utilty sedan fell to the floor because I just didnt grab the base of the case as firmly as I shojuld have. It fell to the wood floor, and pieces flew all over. Luckily I found al the pieces, that about 3 months ago, its still not put back together. So, I guess I would suggest putting it back together. Maybe someday, I'll get un lazy and finish mine. And advice to everyone, always make sure You've got a grip on Your case. -
Anyone else watching "Two and a Half Men"?
kingiguana replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just watched that episode now,.....why is our hobby treated uncool ? inmature ? I guess the only way to be cool, is to be a boozehead ? Funny thing is, when I go to the hobby shop, and shows, the adults outnumber kids big time. I'm 47, and will remain "uncool" til my dying day. -
Very nice, but You need a Britney Spears barefoot figure in that restroom !

Too cool for school !

Real or Model #183 FINISHED!
kingiguana replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I'm going with real. And as for the tires, if they are bias ply tires, they don't bulge like the radials do. If this is a model, it's one hell of a job, and a great job on the photography. Quite possibly a large scale ? But, I'm sticking with real, probably wrong. LOL -
Today I Lost My Best Friend!
kingiguana replied to Tom Setzer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So sorry for Your loss, and yes I agree stay away from large pet store brand stuff. For a dog or cat, or any pet. See if Your vet will cut You a deal, I know its gets pricey, and with gas and everything on its way back up, I can understand getting stuff at a better price, Ive done it too ! the only thing for me it just didnt work no harm, but I ended up spending more money anways. I hate losing a pet, so my condolences to You. -
Cool, I was wondering about that ! Great looking Hornet !

Great job, but wheres the gas door ?
