Anyone else getting Bad spelling Scam Email's??
sidcharles replied to ranma's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
most of what i read online contains poor spelling. the rest: bad grammar. i mean good grief. when you see the red squiggy line, just click on it for crying out loud. -

i take it this car is in some type of rotation? be a shame to relegate it to a box under the workbench after all this. Q: what years would a car like this race? you mentioned Pintos & Vegas, so i'm thinking early gas war years (around 1973-4) is there a source readily available for early modifieds, even back to jalopy years, rule books? for example, when did the single hoop & brace rollbar get replaced with a full cage such as you've fabricated? a couple of guys on HAMB have been quite benevolent in their transfer of knowledge, but i'm trying to do my homework, too. thanks sid

i'm getting nowhere after agreeing to pay postage for the whole lot. some were already gone, and no response about my offer to pay postage for the remainder with a US Postal Money Order. i guess these things happen.

DuckDuckGo touts its practice of "not tracking". my default search is some microsoft page. when it pops up, i immediately switch over to DDG and then go about my business. before DDG, i used Ask Jeeves. that's how long ago i switched. Which browsers and extensions are best for online privacy edit: i also have some settings shut off so when i close out of a window, my history disappears.

is that why the lumber yard is bombarding me with ads? i did do a search for a "woody" a couple of weeks ago.

i've used Duckduckgo for years without a problem . i also have Adblock plus [free]. and 450$ @ year subscription worth of Norton stuff - whatever it does. never use goober or bing or anything a proprietary program suggests. pc is 9 years old. keep up with updates to programs and clear out junk regularly.

not to worry. just because i misread* something does not require you to expound. time in our lives to chill. * i think [in the stickied speed equipment post] i overlooked the word "perches". in context, your description in context makes sense.

Painting Script ?
sidcharles replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
mechanical pencil new eraser or Amazon.com : STAEDTLER Mars Plastic Eraser Pack Of 3 Plastic Mini, White : Office Products the latter would be able to pad print the logo in one fell swoop i would use acrylic paint so if corrections need making, it would be less invasive to the base coat. Vallejo Model Color a hundred brands & colors you could choose. maybe not try to cover in 1 coat, just strive for sharp edges. practice first. patience lasts. clearcoat after. -
Q: what's the new one? i want to update my address book. thanks in advance, sid

i was quite impressed with Iron Trap when the spring pack had to be cut curved to fit the chassis.

i think this is where i got confused: (don't know how to do a better quote) from this thread: last entry on page #3 Full Name:Bill Engwer Posted August 29, 2021 Missed this question...been kinda busy. Anyway, anything will work in pretty much anything, within reason, with enough mods and fabrication. The Columbia is made for a "closed driveline" or "torque-tube" setup, but could be converted to an "open" style driveshaft coupling. The only other major mod required would be replacing the buggy-spring perches with semi-elliptic perches welded to the axle housings. How long it would live under a much heavier car is another question entirely.

but there's new companies popping up every day. i mean, think of the possibilities, man.
