Looks right to me, so far!
-
Great job so far Brian!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence for Agora, I am waiting a bit to try and get the full kit all at once, for their Lamborghini Miura.
-
Thanks, I'm still going to do some touch-ups, but I think it's the right colour!

Looking really good! How would you rate Agora, compared to other "subscription"model companies? I'm waiting to get their Lamborghini Miura.

On this Malibu I'll be using 15" wheels, but I want 4 wheel disc brakes! I do have a lot of cool ones, but they're for larger diameter rims, so...................... 1: I found these rotors from Revell's Acura kit. 2: I opened up the center to fit over the rims I'm using. 3: Then I snipped off all the "stuff" from the backside and sanded them smooth, flat. 4: I made ONE circle the size of a rotor from Evergreen .010 sheet styrene. 5: I cut that circle into 4 pieces. 6: Then I shaped those into somewhat of a caliper look. 7: I painted the "calipers" red, rotors silver and the wheels XF-66 light grey, all Tamiya acrylics brushed one. They're definitely not great but they'll hardly show behind the mags, so good enough and a ton of fun!

I started to rebuild mine as well, I did build it back in the 80s but very poorly, so I dis-assembled it and am having another go at it, this time much better. It is a very cool kit! I must admit that I've stalled but here's my engine, so much fun adding details and there are plenty of great pictures of the real thing on Google. Keep posting your progress please, I am a great fan of the early Countach, especially the LP400, low-body. (Lamborghini actually added about 2 inches in body height after the first run) This kit depicts that low-body version with the "periscope" rear view mirror looking out above the roof, very cool!

One suggestion: since the hood is separate, I would cut the trim from the grille, glue it to the hood and foil it once it's painted. Roger, I saw that but decided it would make a mess of things, so sadly it'll remain as is, not realistic, but it IS only a model after all! LOL

1969 Chevy base C/10

Very cool topper build! -
The body is a re-pop of the annual AMT, from "Missing Link" The chassis is Revell's beautiful '65 kit. The wheelbase IS the same on a real car, but AMTs old kit compared to Revell's much more detailed kit have slightly different wheelbases. 1: First I removed the Revell inner fenders. 2: Then I fit the Revell chassis into the body, and saw how the inner rear fenders are too far back. 3: After cutting (picture in above post) and sanding, then building up the joining frame rails, it fits much better! I DID have to modify the back of the rear seat and the front of the wheel tubs to get the interior to sit far enough back to line up with the body, no problem though, I love doing those little mods.

I am modifying the Revell '65 chassis and interior to fit, so far, I've cut the chassis! It won't be stock, but I do like more detailed chassis and stuff!

Good morning modellers, I'm starting a new project, '64 Malibu! 1: It's a resin kit, repop of the AMT original, so I won't be using much, mostly kit bashed. Here is the front grille/bumper and what I've done to it. 2: Cut the bumper separate. 3: Drilled out the headlights. 4: Made divets in scrap styrene with the Dremel bit shown. After I washed the grille with Tamiya black panel line wash. 5: Foiled over the divetted scraps and installed them from behind. 6, 7:Parking lights are Tamiya acrylic "Clear Orange", of course, you already knew that. Cheers

Mike I won't be bringing this one out to any contests, just a shelf model. I DO have a few nicer new builds though for the NNLs! You know that flooding is quite likely now though, so we may not be able to drive to Minnie THIS year.

Wow that real one is beautiful, more deluxe than my build. Paint is AK, look back through the thread, I posted a picture of it. The black one was a parts car I bought, well, for parts! The paint on that is very nice indeed. I have NO PLANS for that one though. Starting a '64 Chevelle next. Thanks for watching and thanks for all the comments, I really enjoy sharing the build progress pics! Cheers.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

WOW! Love some of those, so cool, I do love mock-ups..................... and then to see them finished, WOW! -
I like it!

Good choice!
-
Nice choice to do it in black, looks great!

I was able to score a trunk emblem from Jerry G. Thanks Jerry! I also foiled the rear trunk hinges, so I think this little glue bomb has been rescued!
-
Here's how all that stuff looks installed: Remember I didn't have a kit, so a lot of this is made from scraps, and what the glue bomb had attached. Do NOT have the trunk chrome handle, but I think I can trade for one with Jerry G.

Farmer, your paint is still better!

I drilled out the old battery and added some simple detail to the heater motor. I glued photo-etch cable ends to a strip of .020 styrene then drilled and filed the styrene to follow the shape of the photo-etched parts. I added a center post, red wire and flat ground cable, then painted some .030 styrene rod with ends painted yellow for caps. Logo is just printed on a piece of plain paper. Here's the battery assembled and the heater motor. I also made up some "stuff" to put on the firewall, just scraps and sprue.

Great work on that Vette, thank you for sharing the build so far! Take us with you to the finish with pictures, please!
