Another 62 Ford

Thank you Roger, I ordered a grille from Rookie Resins, but I'm making it a custom anyway, still don't have glass though, and to be honest, haven't worked on it for a few weeks now, and I removed the chrome, the custom tailgate would not come off so it's going to be a custom for sure! -

Very nice. The built up I'm starting with has no glass, no bumpers, no grille or tail lights, well, I'm only using the body and hood anyway, but I will need some windows eventually! -
That last rear 3/4 view sure looks cool, great stance!

1962 F100 rebuild

I would use all that from the AMT '56 T-Bird, but I love doing that sort of thing, and I've done it to so many kits, however, no one actually cares but me! Build it how you want it and how much fun you can have building it, for me it IS fun changing everything, basically making MORE work for myself. I think the Revell '57 Ford engine is the best of the old Y blocks, but I'm no expert on those. HAVE FUN!
-
So I used a Mobius block, but switched the transmission and oil pan to the proper parts from Fireball, then added heads, intake and valve covers from AMT's '60 Starliner. Those old pickups had a single exhaust with a front crossover so I had to make that, and I used a clear red sprue, plus some styrene scraps cut into flange shapes and some tiny plastic railroad nuts and bolts, so here that is so far, of course much finishing is still required but it's starting to look like a vintage truck engine: (I know that it's not really accurate, but I'm happy with it)

Moebius F-250 Flareside.....

Wow is that ever great looking Marcos! -
I'm following this cool build! Love that front inner fender mod, that body style is difficult to get down in the weeds!
-
Hmmm... I have this kit too, unbuilt, maybe a Deco hot rod is in the future?
-
Oh man, I spewed my coffee! WOW, speechless.
-
WOW, I'm excited to follow this one, very cool so far so I'm sure it'll be a knockout!
-
That looks pretty cool, I've always loved that era of Connies!
-
I want to make this into a street car, tubbed of course, as it already is and NO respectable V8 Vega was not tubbed! Might need 2 kits, one maybe modernized into pro-touring!
-
Wow, that looks great!
-
That looks great! Why not fab-up some fictional modern injection unit, something like I did for my 'Cuda:

Got the stance set where I want it, or actually where it had to be to make everything fit, just a mock up to see how it'll look:

1: I needed to lengthen the rear of the frame so I glued 2 pieces of styrene together to the thickness of the frame and drilled and pinned extensions. 2: I made the very rear from 2 different sizes but now I have the length I need for this old pickup. 3: I made the cab floor from a '60 Starliner kit, it had to fit the original interior, after I cut that floor out, and the new frame. 4: I added some ribs, opposite of the topside, and positioned them so the frame fits right in.

Man that looks good!

According to Fireball's instructions, "The larger portion of the pan is the back end (it appears reversed from the kit's oil pan)" This is for the F-250 4X4.

1: I used the Mobius V8, but added the Fireball oil pan. 2: I cut the trans off and added Fireball's top loader. I also substituted AMT's '60 Starliner engine top and front, I want it to look a bit more vintage. 3: Engine and trans fit the frame, because they're both Mobius, although once I finish, you won't see much Mobius!

1: I cut out some of the Mobius cross members out, filled some depressions and started the conversion to 4 wheel drive. 2: Installed Fireball cross members, and motor mounts, also shock mounts. 3: I lengthened the frame and mocked it up on F-250 wheels and tires.
