Ok, a little further research leads me to believe that ALL of the early MPC Nascar kits had that intake, even the Fords. As far as the scribe line under the hood, the best fix is to fill it with baking soda/superglue.
I disagree with everybody else, Lee. That kit is junk. I'll be making a run to the dump next week, if you'll send it to me I'll be glad to toss it in there for ya........yeah, THATS the ticket.....
Yep, I was trying for the taildragger look, but that was as low as I could get it without reworking the chassis, exhaust, floor pan....you know, minor stuff that I just didn't have the ambition for, lol.
Anytime, Glenn....call me, you got my number!
I thought I'd try building a mild custom for a change. This is Revell's '48 Ford coupe, built about 90% out of the box. Instead of the Flathead, which IMHO is slowly becoming too "trendy", I decided on a Nailhead Buick out of the parts box. Wheels and caps/bands are from the '32 5-window. The biggest issue I had was getting it low enough...I still would like the rear to be lower, but that would require major surgery! Headlights are frenched in, and taillight bezels are made from aluminum tubing.
Paint is GM Chevy Trailblazer touch up paint purchased for $1.00 at a yard sale awhile back. Interior is red and ivory.
Hey, for what it's worth, the movie "Days Of Thunder" is loosely based on Tim Richmonds racing career, and his relationship with crew chief Harry Hyde and car owner Rick Hendrick.
Yes, he was one of the best. We met Tim at the World Crown 300 one year, and he was a nut! Lol. Had he lived, he would have at least as many wins as Earnhardt....probably as many championships too. Keep the updates coming.
Very cool model, and I, too, find this generation of Camaro to be the most attractive.....as a matter of fact, I'm supposed to go look at a real one this afternoon.
