  1. When applying the last few decals to your latest awesome race car model, make double sure you are brushing decal setting solution on them, and not Tenax........ Dang it.
  2. Hendrick had the 5, the 25 of Tim Richmond, and the 17 Tide car of Darrell Waltrip.
  3. Beautiful! I miss the days when drag cars had names instead of sponsors.
  4. What if auto body shops had the attitude that cleaning their gun is just too much trouble, just paint with spray cans. Lol. My main airbrush, a Passche VL, turned 28 years old this year and works perfectly. Why? Because I keep it clean and do regular maintenence, just like any other mechanical device. Once you get a routine, cleanup doesn't take long at all. Back to the original topic.....like someone else said, did it ever work right, or did it start this after something happened?
  5. Oh, man.....that sure is pretty! I think '61 was Ford's best year!
  6. Love 'em all, but that Levi Garrett car just stands out. Isn't that the one that won the Daytona 500? Me either. This era was the last I really liked, even though I kept watching up until a few years ago. When they decided that Darlington wasn't good enough for the Labor Day race, they lost me forever. I mean, thats tradition, man!
  7. Also examine the tip carefully to make sure it doesn't have a tiny split in it, which would cause the problem you're having.
  8. I like it too!!! I think you captured the spirit of the song perfectly. Now, all you need is a little old lady figure standing next to it!
  9. I'm like Jacen, I never was a fan of this body, but it really looks good here, I would say the best build of this car I've ever seen. All that striping over all those curves and ridges is perfect. That would drive me nuts! Lol!
  10. I would suggest asking an aircraft modeler or checking out some aircraft modeling forums....some of those guys are masters at the natural metal look.
  11. Interior looks really good. When I first saw it, I suspected it was simply a lighting issue with the carpet. Can't remember where I saw it, but someone used straight pins for the marker lights....drilled a hole, installed the pin, and put a tiny drop of paint in the center. It looked remarkably convincing.
  12. I second that. Actually, I didn't even have any interest in the midgets until I saw this. Got a link to the website?
  13. What??? Oh, you MUST go see them. I did some research for you, and the World Of Outlaws will be running July 11th at Lima OH.....if you ever go, you'll be hooked!
  14. Very nice, and it brings a tear to my eye because I had a real one like that...same color! One of my favorite cars ever!
  15. Nice looking modified!!!
  16. That really came out great!!! The added detail is very realistic. I can almost smell the racing fuel. Good job on the weathering too, too many people overdo it on that and it ends up looking like a mud buggy.
  17. Very nice! Is it based on a kit?
  18. Don't forget to wear an apron, rubber gloves, paint mask, knee pads, and proper helmet with face shield when disposing of said chemicals.
  19. Lookin Good!!!
  20. I've been using the MCG tach, but looking at that Detail Master.....well.....I MUST order a few. And since I build 70's stuff, the shift light is of no consequence. We didn't need a light to tell us when to shift.
  21. My trading advice is the same as loaning money to family members.......never offer more than you can afford to lose.
  22. Rub your finger against the side of your nose and buff with that. The natural oils from your skin should remove any residue.
  23. Thanks again, guys!! I appreciate it!
  24. Both Model Car Garage and Detail Master offer photoetch fan kits, and I've also seen some in kits, molded seperately from the radiator....can't remember which kits though.
