  1. The engine is the real difficult part of this project. It was only in the Little Deuce issue of the kit.Seems to me there was a discussion of this here or on the TRaK forums. The old 60's issues of Monograms 34 Ford coupe/casbriolet might have it, but the examples shown dont look like the one I have from the original Little Deuce kit. I think its a Pontiac, if that helps. The custom grile is out there if you look hard, I've seen them on ebay a number of times. Greg Holland ( VSRN online ) doesnt have the decals, but he's got a lot of the other Monogram ones, so he might be able to make them for you. Great idea for this one! I've got the yellow issue too, and have been saving my grille and engine for the same reason!
  2. That is something else. My jaw dropped when I saw it. Great job!!
  3. Holy cow, those are great! Other than that, I am speechless!
  4. Yep I remember the story. Theres more to it if I remember correctly, and there may be some other molds that were forgotten. One of our historians would know about it!
  5. I think it was Arrowhead Aluminum that was doing the repops of the tuner tires. Too bad he has had so many problems, I always thought he had some great stuff.
  6. Is this what your looking for? http://www.reliableresin.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=112&zenid=okjftqg5d376p18pqgonp97dq1
  7. I had been thinking along the same lines. I'd love to have several sets of those. I got a set of those tires with some wheels from ebay a couple of weeks ago, but man, they are expensive!
  8. They are actually Ansen Apollo wheels. They have a larger center cap. One of my favorite wheels!
  9. I dig that blue and the new choice in wheels! I like semi-shiny paint more than flat.
  10. I have this problem too, and temp or air pressure didnt matter all that much. I have tried all the ususal suspects to thin it with and found 91% isopropyl alcohol to be the best for me. I have found that adjusting the pressure, to around 12 to 18 pounds, shooting the paint as thick as possible, and applying many coats works best. And all acrylics arent the same. Most of the model master I dont thin at all. I think it is an aquired skill. Ive been using airbrushes since 1965 or so, yet still have to master acrylics.
  11. That is pretty darn cool. I really like it!
  12. There are also a bunch of youtube vids of it.
  13. Well now I feel better. Although I must have at least a couple dozen in progress, I only have 14 completed. That includes one done in the 60's, one in 1971, 4 snap kits, and a Red Baron rat rod that I call "mine" as when it arrived from ebay it was so broken up I had to rebuild a lot of it and get a new kit for parts. I think I should add my name to the roster of "model car starters"
  14. I love that 32. It is so vintage, great job!
  15. I dont remember if it removes the whitewalls.....sorry
  16. Beautiful. One of my favorite Monogram rods!
  17. Thats too cool, I dig it. Sits nice and low. Great job on the weathering!
  18. I thot it sorta ironic to have Enya as the background music. That being said, Its Great To Be An American!!
  19. I like purple power. I leave them soaking overnnight and they come out squeaky clean!
  20. Another great job. Uh, Dave, are there any of those old Monogram kits you DONT have?
  21. Man, I really like this! Got any pics of the chassis? Id like to see those headers.
  22. Nice job! Using the grey on the chrome bumpers was a good idea, it came out great.
  23. Thats looking great! I like your style, especially the 510 and Celica you have posted. Where in the world do you find those stretchwalls? Ive looked at HLJ and Hobby Search but have been unable to find any.
  24. I must go by my A.K.A. because if you knew I was Son Of Beezlebubb I would get banned.
