  1. Whoa, this is so cool! I dig that its not all nice and shiny like most all the Willys we see. Great job!
  2. It came from Scale modeling by Chris, SMBC, however its a trans kit with the body and other stuff. Heres the link, scroll about halfway down. http://www.scalemodelingbychris.com/smbc_bodiesp1.htm
  3. Pro Tech offers machined valve stems. I went the cheap route and stretched some sprue over a candle, painted it black, drilled holes in the rims, and superglued the sprue in place from the back. I put a touch of silver on the tip to simulated a valve stem cap. Its a really simple operation that adds quite a lot to the overall look.
  4. The whitewalls are indeed early 60's Revell items, I had a set from the 56 Ford Pickup. The earliest kit I remember those slicks being in was the AMT 40 Willys/Custom 32 Ford sedan. I've managed to score a few sets on ebay, and got a resin set from Missing Link Resin Casters.
  5. The rear wheels are in the wrong place, too far forward!
  6. Great choice for color, you dont see it too often!
  7. That was pretty interesting! I did take notice when Stacy said "pretty soon you can build your own version of the rat roaster right out of the box". Ive gotta say, tho, that I think Kirby's turquoise channeled 32 five window should have won.
  8. Now that's what a rail should look like! Fantastic work!
  9. Wow, thats really great. I love this one!
  10. One could sure hope they would re-release theses Firestone fronts!
  11. There seems to be something lost in translation. Close, but not close enough.
  12. A huge radial air cooled ariplane type of engine would look wild, and if you didnt hook it up to a drivetrain, it could have props made from machetes.
  13. I was home, shortly to leave to see the doc. To say this was shocking is an understatement of great magnitude. I found it hard to keep my thoughts focused on my medical issues. When I got to my doc's office, she had the TV on and was not very composed. I am proudly displaying my flag in front of my house! Unfortunately I am the only one in my neighborhood that does this.
  14. This is metalizer stainless steel, shaded with Tamiya Dark Bronze. I really like the metalizer paints for exhaust and engine details.
  15. I dont knw about San Francisco, but across the bay, there is Hobbies Unlimited 937 Manor Blvd, San Leandro 510-351-7112. They've been around for decades and are really good guys!
  16. Both www.bigdonkeyresin.com and Alan Raab public.fotki.com/cnaind/ should be able to help!
  17. I think I see a piece of sprue.
  18. Nice job, thats some smooth paint!
  19. That sure came alive with the clear!!
  20. Good grief thats fantastic. Talk about some skills! The first picture looks so close to a 1:1 I'd bet if it didnt show up here, Harry could use it in "real or model".
  21. I had some brush painted stuff that would not lift without a lot of soaking and help from me. Some of the guys swear by Dawn Power Dissolver. I've had the best luck with brake fluid and purple power, however they both need to be fresh to work. Testors or someone makes a product called "easy lift off" that you could try. Ive found that sometimes it takes days to work and needs a lot of help with toothpicks or scrub brushes.
  22. Seems I heard tell that these guys can do gold. Little Motor Kar Co. 203 Linda Lane Reading, PA 19606 Phone/FAX (610) 779-1462 E Mail <littlemotorkarco@talon.net>
  23. I think those black things are the blowers from the AMT 64 Cutlass. They look like it and the carbs in that kit were what is shown here. Tim Boyd had a review of the Cutlass parts in the other mag.
  24. After all these years I just now noticed that MPC altered the photo on the box top to show the 2-4's and not the 4-2's.
