  1. I dont know about green, but Tamiyas titanium gold looks pretty close. Or perhaps if you started with aluminum, and then gave it a wash of gold, maybe with some clear yellow you might get close. The trick would to NOT get the finish perfectly uniform. Might even want to add a tiny bit of blue or red.
  2. Gorgeous 32 sedan Doc!
  3. Beautiful color! I think those might be Mercedes headlights..............
  4. Yea, Doc, all I used for years was plain old Testors. Funny thing for me was painting without a booth, that high pressure seemed to blow bugs and ###### out of the paint. Ill take some pics and post em up. I have a 23 T done in Testors Jade green that came out gorgeous. I put it back in the box when the the lacquer putty ( not 2 part ) started shrinking.
  5. Yo, Dude, Im a Lennon Goat too! Ya know, Im pretty sick. I watched the "real" Jesus take the wheel, and I must say, I like the Lennon Goat version better. OK......Im done, I must now got take my meds, my homecare nurse is very demanding.....................
  6. Funny all the varying respsonses. I used cheap lacquer thinner for all my paint jobs. I guess I should take pictures of the paintjobs Ive done over the last 3 decades. After all the color coats were applied, I thinned the paint, something like 75% thinner, 25% paint, blew it on, and I mean blew it on at 35 psi, and got super gloss. Not having a booth, the pressure seemed to blow any ###### out of the paint. Just my 2 cents.......
  7. Hmmm. I think I would trust them more than the current crop! Hey, a musican and an actor? Perhaps there chosen venues were a means to an end. I suffered a lousy job to pay for my fun! I dont think Travolta flys for Quantas, I think he might own some of their aircraft. He still needs the appropriate license to fly, whether or not it is for a carrier.
  8. Travolta has a multi-engine aircraft license as well as a commercial license that allows him to fly jets. For those not in the know, it is a huge undertaking. I have a glider and private pilots license to fly single engine aircraft. It took me 2 years to get that far. Multi-engine is a couple years past that, and commercial jet is a world past that. One would have to have a whole lot of commitment to get that far. Sorta puts those of us who like snap kits in out place!
  9. And finally, these are ones I have pics of. There are more than I havent taken pics of.
  10. I have way too many.....
  11. I saw one of these idiots walking down my street awhile back, from the privacy of my darkened home with shades drawn. It was so funny seeing him walk when he thought no one was watching! Knock-kneed, pigeon toed, with a hand grabbing the back of his pants. When he rounded the corner, he got a hitch in his get-along, sorta like Walter Brennan in the Real McCoys. I had a friend that walked like that only when he was in public. I asked him why, and he ignored me. And there is a stereo company in my town that advertises those behind-the-grille speakers. I think I need to move........
  12. Sure they could, after they had an environmental impact study, formed a committee to draft a bill regarding parties, debated it in Washington, passed regulations, and made an agency to make sure the rules and regulations were followed. Oh, and of course raised taxes to help "pay" for the various agencies responsible for parties.
  13. Very nice! The flames work well with your beautiful purple paint!
  14. Now thats one GREAT model!
  15. That turned out great Phil, I sure dig it! The caps and lakers work quite well on this!
  16. Maybe someone should contact Jairus about this. He's into slots and should have a tumbler.
  17. WOW! I have goosebumps!
  18. Yea, well, it is a long and winding road. What I see as the most important part of this by far, is that Round 2 gives a hoot about us modelers. Note the polls they have on their website about parts packs. We now seem to have 2 American companies that seem to care about what we want to build, and will listen to us. The days of building only what ends up on shelves seems to be gone. Now, if only Revell could follow in Round 2's footsteps and release some parts packs OTHER than engines!
  19. All this time I never remembered I painted this last year using Donn's method. I could be a little more glossy, but i dont have a spray booth and was dealing with dust particles in the paint. The shine looks quite in scale, and the paint was dry to the touch in only a few minutes. Just o'l Testors Lime Gold in the bottle with hardware store lacquer thinner. This 39 was done in 1984, again Testors plain old orange with lacquer thinner. Pic is pretty bad, but its smooth and shiny, and despite being enamel, and has held up perfectly over the last 27 years. This method works fabulously with the Model Master line, and I think the gloss is better, and it dries even faster.
  20. Yea, what a great car! Do you know how rare any colors other than gunmetal are? Freakin A this is beautiful!
