Me and Alclad have never gotten along. Thank god I have a buddy who does chroming for all the major car manufactures prototypes and the military. He slips in a few trees of my model parts here and there. It’s some top quality stuff.

Thanks Jantrix. And Bob you work is the left jab to my right hook. When I get to the top, your work get's me over that edge. Oh and the next order is on it way this morning. THanks my friend. Gracias Rollinn..... You know how we do it. I got something for them IPMS guys in the work'z. Here is a sneak peak of my other major build. THanks to Ron Andrews from RMR Resin for the body. This ride will have all the detail my 55 has and maybe even more, also will have a full body mural. All the aluminum work will be from Bobdude. He is even making my custom wheels for it. It is not even 40% done on the body fab work.

Yea I hear you Dave. 2010 will be my last year of competing in the automotive classes, after that it will only be for display. I figure it's been long enough and I have taken some of the most prestige awards around. It’s almost that time to pass the torch to my apprentice, and go after some of them old guy’s in the military world. IPMS Beware.

Very nice work 408 you out did yourself this time. I like the way you motorized the back amp rack. Supermike we use the stainless oil splatter guard wich you can find in any kitchen or baking area. Its about 10 inchs round with a handle to keep the oil from jumping out the pan when frying.

Thanks Dave. Looking forward to seeing you there. Are you going to try and make it to Jersey?

Dupli Color Engine Enamel
MR BIGGS replied to RodBurNeR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have used them all. the only one I stay away from is the satin blk or blk primer. they seem like they never dry. the only top coat I use is Urethain. Never tried it with anything else. But Urethain I the only stuff that can go over anything, unless you go enamel over lacquer. -
I just found this on Wikipedia Fuzzy dice, known in the British Isles as furry dice or fluffy dice, are an automotive decoration consisting of two over-sized, six-sided plush dice which hang from the rear-view mirror.[1] The practice of Fuzzy Dice originated in the U.S. They where invented by two brothers trying to 'pimp' their car. in the 1950s and is considered one of first items sold specifically to be hung from a rear-view mirror. While fuzzy dice were at the height of their popularity in the 1970s and the 1980s, they have since become increasingly rare as the practice of hanging any object from the rear-view mirror became illegal in many states. A 1993 study showed there to be no correlation between the use of fuzzy dice and the degree of a driver's reckless driving behavior.[2]

don't know who made them first or where they came from. I always thought they looked cool on older customs. I have a few on my 36 la salle, 32 custom ford and my 49 merc.

I used to own a 928S turbo sport before and it never gave me problems. Im not to sure about that model. but mine had over 200k. I guess if it was well maintained and it look's like it was, it should be a good deal.

has anyone used one coat white?
MR BIGGS replied to Smart-Resins's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never used it. But what I use is hok white and it goes over anything even primer gray. Or what you could use that's even cheaper is plain white primer, all you got to do is wet sand it and clear right over. That's about the whitest you can get. And it won't turn yellow. -
Raul after your done showing that nice ride along with the trailer, It's coming home with me. Nice to see you again my friend.

How to make primer look like primer?
MR BIGGS replied to Aaronw's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just primer it with primer sealer, wet sand it till it's nice & smooth. Use some decal set and The decals will stick with no problem. -
If you shop at Michael's Arts and Crafts
MR BIGGS replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the coupon Casey. Now as far as Michaels employees, at first I used to get looked at like if I was casing the place to rob them, they even followed me around sometimes thinking what’s this big bald headed gang member up to looking around for ribbon and paints. Now it’s a whole different story. I have paid hundreds of dollars for framing our company pictures, artwork and just a bunch of stuff to re-do our walls and offices at work. Now when I walk in its all smiles and what can I help you with today Sir. -
How Out-of-box is OOBS?
MR BIGGS replied to gowjobs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You're taking the term "out of the box" way to literal. Obviously, you're going to get to use paint, glue, etc to complete the build. The idea is to build the kit using ONLY the parts provided by the kit MFG. Basically; it's an exercise in showcasing your building skills. Not how deep your pockets are when it comes to buying AFTERMARKET parts from Detail Masters, Model Car Garage, etc. I guess the bottom line is find out in advance what is and isn't allowed before you attempt to enter a show/contest. Remember, you're playing in someone else sandbox and you have to play by their rules or don't play at all. If you don't like the way a show sets up their classes, the solution is simple start your own show and set up the classes the way you want them. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ And this is why a lot of people are not attending shows anymore. They make the rules and change them as they please. To benefit them selves and their members/friends. I sponsor a bunch of big shows each year and if I see foul play or favoritism I will pull my sponsorship, and along with me others sponsors and paying participants will follow. People got to remember this is just a hobby, and it's got to be in fun. Cause once you take that away, it's all over. When too much politics get involved its not fun anymore. There are a few major show and web sights you will never catch me at or on, due to a bunch of modelers who think they know it all and take this hobby to the heart. This is just my opinion thou. Thanks. -
I just got my invite in the mail today for the show. So I will be there for sure. Me and around 12 of my members from cali and a few from arizona.
