  1. Fantastic work Cranky! I saw the E Hubs videos for the water droplets and snake skin some time ago but I was too intimidated to try it. Your execution of the technique is very impressive. I can't wait to see more of this build.
  2. I'm a big fan of these cars. My dad had a '69 455 Hurst Olds that he had bored and stroked. That thing would flat out fly. There is something about those gold strips over that the white paint. The '69s had rear spoilers that helped the car to look like it was moving even when it was standing still. Two weeks after he sold it, the purchaser totaled it. What a waste. I never forgave my father for selling that car Your off to a good start on your build. Keep it up.
  3. I love this build. The engine details look great.
  4. Nice job mixing the paint. I love the color. I got a similar effect using candy apple red over a brass base. The depth in the grill looks great and the interior is sweet. Welcome to the forum and keep posting.
  5. I noticed the pipe nipple and the enamel paint, which Donn Yost advocates. Did you use the Yost method for the beautiful paint job?
  6. Marcos, Congrats on another beautiful build. I never considered pearl clear over a metallic. The finish is great! How did you prepare the photoetched hubcap centers? I assume that you painted the whole thing white and rubbed the white off the high spots on the photoetch. Whatever you did, it's very convincing.
  7. What he said! I appreciate anyone who takes the time to post anything that is remotely helpful. Historically, you have contributed a great deal to this site to help your fellow modelers. You should be very proud of your stellar work. I wish that I had a fraction of your skills... I'm working on it, but not there yet. Keep posting Dave. I appreciate your skill and your contributions.
  8. The wheels and guitar look great. The motor looks pretty sweet from the front. I would love to see more pictures of the motor.
  9. Longbow, nice job on your first try at making headers. Terry, thanks for the info. I will definitely save it and use it on future projects.
  10. The paint work is very impressive. It must have taken quite a while to lay down all those paint details and masking. I have no idea of what that Allison engine is supposed to look like, but yours looks fantastic. Congratulations on a killer build. Congrats also on the SAE feature on you some time ago.
  11. Beautiful build.
  12. Beautiful build.
  13. That paint looks miles deep. What base and candy did you use? Man, I love this hobby... A guy who builds the 1:1 offering insight to the modeler... This is soooo cool.
  14. What a legacy to share with your dad. This is very cool.
  15. I really like these builds. The hand painted lettering is very impressive and something I wish I could do.
