Why its bad to sniff modeling glue
Wheels replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think someone is on Crack! Just don't know if it's the seller or the buyers! -
Ira, That is really cool! Keep up the awesome work! Looking forward to your progress!

That's good to know! This Tru Blue is a little darker. Gloss coat coming the decent day.The hood is going to be painted flat or semi-gloss black. I'll be using BMF on the trim. Looking for the right wheel and tire combo. The real car had 50's on the rear mounted on Crager style mags.

Pretty cool! I like it!

This is a model of my '70 Challenger that I owned a long time ago. This was the car that few knew that I owned. Only a couple friends and my girlfriend at the time. I never took any pictures of so this will be done from memory. My biggest regret was that I sold it. The kid that I sold it to wrecked it at his high school parking lot. He was showing off doing donuts, he slammed it into a telephone pole! It was a great car with a perfect interior. Here's my starting point. I purchased this kit a few years ago for this build. Hosted on Fotki I stripped the model to bare metal, shot it with self-etching primer, then a coat of white primer before spraying the body with House Of Kolor Tre Blue Pearl. I really like this paint it went on quick and easy and it is a beautiful shade of blue! Hosted on Fotki More to come...

1994 Dodge Ram Power Master
Wheels replied to Wheels's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's pretty cool Jordan! I think Dodge missed out by not bring back the Ramcharger. Here's mine after painting it in Key Lime. I still have to top it off with Black in a couple days. It's looking better than I thought it would! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki -

I did thin it a bit. I also trimmed th inner fender wells. I think I'm going to with a Black over Lime paint scheme. I have wanted to do something with the lime paint I have. -
I purchased this Jimmy Flintstone resin body at NNL East a couple years ago. I thought it was unique as Dodge's version of a Suburban. I knew it would look good as a fire service vehicle, so that how I will build it. I pulled it out today and here what I have accomplished so far. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Since this body didn't have an interior. It will mean piecing one together. Two interiors from the Dodge Ram P/U snap kit and the back half of the Tahoe interior. Lookin' pretty good so far! Hosted on Fotki

A Tahoe chassis under a C1500. I never even thought about that! This Sportside sat in a box for the last five years. After seeing Josh's post. I decided that I would go the same route! I mocked up this sportside as a 4x4 that I was going to do as a slammed in the weeds street machine. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki So, a new project is born! Thanks!

I've heard some say, that when you paint you should stay with the same manufacture of paint, primer and clear coat to avoid problems. I know many builders use different paint from different sources such as nail polish and so on... Now, I have a bunch of rattle can paints that I want to use up, and I have some Dulpicolor primers that I like to use. Are they compatable with Krylon, Rust-O-leum, Plasti-kote, Testors and Tamiya paints? Are there any issues with adhesion? What are your thoughts?

I finished this a while back but never posted it on this forum. I mated AMT's Dodge Duallie snap kit with Modelhaus' utility body. I added a vise to the bumper from Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland, an R&D Unique air compressor which needed to be shortened to fit inside the body Gas engine was added to the air compressor. I made a hose reel from evergreen srcaps and a replacement sewing machine bobbin (my wife's idea, and 2 for less than a $1 @ Wal-mart) Heres one in progress photo before primer. Oxygen and Actcetylene bottles added. Hosted on Fotki A water cooler, hydraulic cylinder (Cat D8 dozer), chain, fire extinguisher Hosted on Fotki Real mud was added to the tires. Parts box decals added. Hosted on Fotki A laptop was added to the interior. Hosted on Fotki Hose reel with air hose and impact gun added. Hosted on Fotki This was a fun model to build!

1992 Ford F-350 service truck
Wheels replied to Maindrian Pace's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice job Mike! I like the extra details! Where did you find the mirrors at? I did put mirrors on my Dodge service truck because traveling to model shows, I didn't want to worry about them breaking off. When I'm not displaying it anymore, I may add a set to it. -
No such thing as global warming Harry. That's just another way for the government to take money out of our pockets! It's 10 degrees this morning at my place, feels like zero or below! Time to stay inside and build models where its warm!!

Real Sharp!! Nice change with the wheels! -
Great job so far John!! Welcome back!! Some may disagree with me, but it doesn't matter pre-painted or not. Sometimes a quick build renews our enthusism for the hobby What matters is that your building again! The hobby is about having fun! So have fun forget, the politics. You have added some great details. I love those wheels with the Black and Red color combo! Keep up the good work!
