  1. But what new Jag is a supercar, besides the concepts?
  2. Ooooh, thanks for sharing. So maybe Aston Martin? I wouldn't mind another Aston.
  3. Great job! Any fitment issues?
  4. I have the America roadster and I bought a Fujimi Porsche 911 Turbo for parts, because the America roadster has a bunch of inaccurate parts, like the steering wheel, or misshapen parts, like the wheels.
  5. Great job! Unusual color, which I like a lot.
  6. Considering how bad this kit is in terms of accuracy, and that it was produced in large numbers by Fujimi, I too am surprised that its hard to find this kit for cheap on eBay.
  7. Nice work. Those wheels remind me of the stock S600 wheels.
  8. Great job! Very clean builds. Me likey.
  9. Ehhhh. I would have been more excited at other options, like a short tail McLaren.
  10. Think i saw that the other day. A 1/18 BBR resin model.
  11. Awesome. What are you going to do about the wheels?
  12. Tires are plastic, right? Do they separate from the wheels?
  13. Hey Steve (VRM), Last week I received your excellent decals for the 300SLR. Included were large Mercedes star emblems with an excellent chrome finish. There's been a lot of discussion about painting the hubcaps properly (here and on automotive forums), and I was thinking that maybe these decal stars with their chrome appearance would be perfect substitutes for metal transfer stickers, which have a hard time conforming to curved surfaces. What do you think? I haven't tested the decals yet or checked their size, but are they thin enough to conform over the molded-in star for that perfect 3d look, or would the star have to be sanded off to place the decal? Also, are they the right size for the hubcaps? Will you include these in your 300SL decal set? Thanks, Bernard
  14. And the contents and instructions have been posted: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10310910
  15. Steve - looks like we are copying in each other. I have two on order, one will be painted silver, the other strawberry.
  16. Awesome. I have your Ferrari SWB decals too - they're GRRRREAT!
  17. Acustion has a full detail kit coming out, including parts to adapt the kit wheels to make rudge ones. Not sure if the regular wheel is the same as the rudge, just without the decorative cap. The aftermarket needs to make the fitted luggage, even though that's pretty easy for any modeler to make. Also, decals for plaid seats (though you will have to remove the molded in pleating from the kit's leather seats).
  18. Great job, and I like that you updated it for the later model year!
  19. detailed pics: http://www.detailscaleview.com/2015/01/tamiya-124-mercedes-300sl-24338.html http://tamiyablog.com/2015/01/tamiya-24338-124-mercedes-benz-300sl-more-detailed-pictures/
  20. @sjordan2 Did you notice that it has speaker grills but no radio (which was a small addition to the bottom-center of the dash - see pic). Not a huge deal, because you can get a photoetch scratchbuilt radio, or omit the speaker grills. Still appears to be the most accurate and complete representation. Another thing: there are decals for the stars and scripts, but these should really be metal transfers; however, they are already available aftermarket. This would really benefit from the aftermarket, including the rudge wheels, fitted suitcases, hose clamps, rivets etc.
  21. You did a nice job correcting the errors in this kit!
  22. Nice job, and thanks for the tip re: the wheel spacing and lowering!
  23. Ha! Nice splice!
  24. Keep the support sprues on until you are complete with the painting and polishing. I learned the hard way from my coupe. While polishing, I got small hairlines cracks in the paint from the body flexing.
  25. Nice job! Glad you went with a unique color!
