Beautiful. Very nice work.

Beautiful! Such a clean build, and I really like the color combination.

The Pagani and Huracan will be big hits, but why can't I have a McLaren F1 short tail Are they in cahoots with the people over at Fujimi?
-
I like it! Very clean build and great individual colors!

Ferrari California 1:24 Revell, Hobby Desing
BVC500 replied to karambolis8's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking good so far! -
Awesome job! What paint did you use for the exterior?
-
Or the other problem is that Revell's wheels lack fidelity. For example, whereas the spokes on the 1:1 wheel might square and sharp, the spokes on a Revell 1:24 wheel always seem rounded and soft.

Aoshima posted this photo on FB, but they haven't lifted the curtain yet and I haven't heard anyone speak to their releases at the show. Also, what does the placard "Exclusive for existing clients" mean?

Pressing question of the evening: will the roof, which looks to be just painted black on the prototype model, be offered in glass per the real car??? One could only hope, but I doubt it. Two more things: 1) I think the AMG GT lends itself to fewer parts. In addition to what's already been discussed, I'll add that it probably won't have separate bumpers like the SLS and will have fewer interior parts than the SLS. 2) I don't see the LaFerrari or LFA as over-engineered, but rather typical Tamiya. I actually wish Tamiya had done a bit more engineering on the LaFerrari to include some of the missing wiring for the hybrid system, and as bennyg said, multi-piece dash and seats.

Looks good, but PLAMOZ or Hobby Design will definitely need to produce better wheels.

Brian James Trailer *UPDATED* 8/23/16*

Do you think it has a lot of parts? -
You'd better believe it: Pocher 1/8th 300SL Gullwing
BVC500 replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
For a $800 pre-painted kit, I don't think its acceptable to have to strip, fill the seam and repaint. Then again, if you wanted a different color, it wouldn't be such a big deal. Pocher should offer these kits unpainted or at least primed. -

Look at the photos on the website. You can zoom in on them. Multiple photos show a joint (or separation line) for the whole roof structure. You can see this at the base of the A pillar in one of the interior shots, and along the area I described in other shots. -

Looks good, except for one glaring thing. Tell me if you agree...is there a seam running along the bottom of the rear side window to the base of the rear window? It looks like the whole roof structure is a completely separate part, and I wonder if this was done for manufacturing purposes. If this is so, it is completely inaccurate and sucks because this is a pre-painted model and not easy to correct unless you strip, fill and repaint. -
Any luck with Speedway Decals?
BVC500 replied to BVC500's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Gotcha. Thanks guys for your input. It's much appreciated and I understand now the constraints on his time. -
So, just before Thanksgiving, I inquired with Speedway Decals about a custom job, and got an immediate response from Thomas Logan, the proprietor, saying that he'd look into my job and get back to me a few days later. I figured the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays would get in the way, so didn't think it was unusual that I didn't receive a timely response, but now I'm at the end of January and I have received no response to any of my follow-ups. Has anyone had any problems with Speedway? Has communication been an issue? In your experience, do custom jobs take a long time? I'm pretty patient, and I know as a builder, I can all get sidetracked easily, maybe that's what happened to Thomas. Thanks in advance for your input. Bernard

Beautiful, and very good job! The only thing that is distracting is the color of the wheels. They would look better in body color like the hubcaps than the aluminum silver.

I hope Tamiya's license isn't affected. I would think that since the announcement of the FXX K is imminent (given the Tamiya blog posting), they've already secured the license.
-
Very happy about the AMG GT! The McLaren is pretty cool too. Now, if Tamiya releases the Ferrari FXX K, I'd be completely satisfied for a while.
-
Very cool. It reminds me of the story about the 250GTO that was used by a college mechanic's class as a training vehicle, and was once worthless but now is a $40 million car.

Hi Ismael, Did you know that Plamoz now offers a set of wheels that fit perfectly on the Corvette? I bought a set and they are very high quality, smooth resin with virtually clean-up. See the link here: http://plamoz.com/products/corvette-c6-f19-r20-cup-wheel-set Also, what do you plan to do about the decals? I just ran across this photo of a guiy who did this, but I don't have any info other than this photo. Cheers, Bernard

Nice. Thanks for sharing! -
But what new Jag is a supercar, besides the concepts?
-
Ooooh, thanks for sharing. So maybe Aston Martin? I wouldn't mind another Aston.
-
Great job! Any fitment issues?
