Testor Paint/Hobby Lobby Heads-Up
sfhess replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here you would have to chase down an employee who happens to have the key to the locked cabinet the spray paint is kept in, then select the cans you want to purchase. The employee will take them to the check stand, where you have to ask the checker to chase down the cans that were brought up. -
The Official EBay Discussion Thread

A few weeks ago I discovered that most of my saved searches no longer work. Searches I used to look for certain model kits (i.e. Mercury) now show mostly stuff for Mercury Marine engines or full-scale Mercury cars. -

Model Car t shirts????
sfhess replied to Tom Kren's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
By the time I got to the table at NNL West there were no longer any sufficiently large shirts available. Oh well next time. Maybe bring one to the Reg table at GSL... -

On the other hand, when I take my car to the dealership for service, they take out the engine and cabin air filters, take pictures of the filters, put the filters back in, text me pictures of the filters and quote me a price of $130 or so to change the filters. I can purchase the filters for about $20 each and each one takes about 5 minutes to install. -

There is a tesla store across the street from the hotel I stayed in over the weekend. Plus a zillion of the cars on the streets in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara etc. -

On my weekend trip to NNL West I saw a Rivian pickup and SUV on separate occasions. Also spotted a Lucid. And a million Teslas. They are all over silicone valley. -
I scored pretty well in the Raffle at NNL West on Saturday. 1/16 scale AMT 79 Firebird and a bunch of aftermarket resin and 3D parts. Swap meet scores included the 68 El Camino I was looking for, a resin Zipper Deuce roadster body with a R&D cast metal frame, a couple of bagged kits and some other parts and goodies. Also we checked out a local hobby shop that has mostly RC stuff but they also have a good stock of current kits at reasonable prices and a good inventory of paint and supplies. They have some bottles of Model Master paint still.

Battery replacement cost…..
sfhess replied to BlackSheep214's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guys on facebook pages and online forums will find it necessary to change batteries every 5000 miles like they "need" to change transmission fluid every 30,000 miles in conventional cars. -

Thanks. Edited my post. Sorry Robert. -
I found the Revell 71 Olds 442 kit at Burbank's House of Hobbies on Tuesday. I looked in the bargain bin and there was a built JoHan 70 442 in a bag with another car for $5.00. Sold.
