  1. I'm about as "big rig" as a modeler can be and I'm not aware of any place like that? Kit Form Services selles expanded metal type screens but for photo etch like the stuff I posted, Plano is the only place I've found so far?
  2. These are labeled as HO scale but work perfect for 1/25 and 1/24 things. The diamond plate may be too small though?
  3. Yeah, Plano Model Products caters to the model railroad crowd but he does sell some "scratch builders" sheets that are approx. 2-1/2" X 11" He was even kind enough to make a special type with Peterbilt Oval holes for me so it could be used for Peterbilt grill screens and air cleaners. He was disappointed at the small amount of people that ordered them so I hate to ask him to make any others. I had quite a few people say they wanted them but when it came time to buy them, everyone drug their feet! He does have sheets with round holes (Morton pattern) with curved end rectangles (Apex pattern) and tiny ovals. (I forget what he's calling that one?) He does have these same types in a really big sheet but it's over 100.00.
  4. That is freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I'm looking for the same thing but with shorter rectagular holes. The holes are a little too long on that Detail Master piece.
  6. Hey Kurt this trailer has regular balsa wood for the decking.
  7. Thanks Dave! This is a one of a kind, scratch built trailer, it was only made once.
  8. Hey Christopher, thanks! The compressor is a resin unit. I'm not sure if it's a copy of a kit part or where it originated from? I got it from Jamie Rahmoeller.
  9. Thanks again guys! I have to give most of the credit to Jamie. He built the trailer, I just made it a little nicer.
  10. Hey Billy, the engine in that kit is a Cummins, just like the one I built and posted pics of. These engines were painted "Cummins beige". It would be highly unlikely to see any chrome anywhere on them. You could leave the parts chrome for a custom look though. I used Tamiya XF-55 Deck tan which has a little bit more a gray color than Cummins beige but it gives the engine a used appearance. It's also flat based so your engine will look more realistic. Don't ever go by the pictures on the box, they are incorrect pretty much every time!
  11. That's really sharp! Love those colors!
  12. If the model were painted black and I used my two holes rather than the ten holes, that would be it!
  13. Thanks Gordon, your welcome!
  14. Thanks guys! I did think the color was odd in the beginning when I first got it so I asked Jamie why he chose to paint it that beige color. He said he was working on a real one at the shop he works at and it was that color. Now, after putting it all back together, I really like it in that color! I have thought about making a tractor using the same paint.
  15. I'm trying to get my buddy Jamie to post the pics of the wheels he modified using those old MPC rallies. He did the exact thing I'm wanting to do. He's building a replica of his real street truck that he built. Hopefully he'll post here soon.
  16. Hey Jaroslay I bought this elastic thread years ago from a craft store here in the US. Do you have any craft stores over there that have sewing materials? They may have this. I am currently using it to replicate textured brake hoses.
  17. Beautiful work Jaroslav!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Thanks Jim! That tractor is only temporary. I'm building a big bunk Kenworth cabover for it right now.
  19. Here's a project I have recently completed (other than two tool boxes.) This is a completely scratch built 45' transcraft, spread axle step deck flatbed trailer. It was originally built by Jamie Rahmoeller (he's on this forum as well) and is just beautiful!!!!!!! At the time this trailer was built, Jamie did not have any Clint Freeman low profile suspension units so he made suspensions from scratch. They were ok but I felt that as nice as this trailer is, it deserved the best! I ripped off both old suspensions and built two of my CFC low profile suspension kits that feature real rubber air bags. To these I added the brake shoes, brake drums, Stemco trailer hubs and 1/25 ten hole Alcoa wheels that I mastered and Jamie casts. I also added the tires from the 1/28 Testors diecast truck kits, glad hands and electrical plug from Plaskit and a resin copy of a king pin that I machined from aluminum. I have two resin, single door tool boxes that are the only things left to be added. These Will be placed between the axles on each side of the trailer. The trailer features a real wood deck with weathering and all bolt heads hand painted, "lightening holes" in the main frame rails, Transcraft logo on the rear and on all mudflaps, separate rub rails and rhinestone lights. The Peterbilt 352 big bunk is a super nice built up that was a contest winning truck back in the 70's when the kit first came out. All stripes are hand painted, the AMT axle was made to steer and the cab converted to a 110". I felt it was so nice when I received that I just carefully put it back together as it was. I'll probably replace all the chrome on it when the reissue comes out. I apologize for the crummy pics. I tried to get my photographer friend to shoot some pics but he's too busy
  20. The truck I saw appeard to be 95-98 Dodge. I wonder if they still made those wheels around that time?
  21. I sell parts and I try my best to follow the rules of "no selling allowed here". I tell everyone interested in anything I make to please email directly as to not violate these rules. I would suggest making a post telling us the type of parts your looking for to trade or whatever and if anyone happens to have them, to please email you directly. This would be best posted in the "Wanted" section of the forum.
  22. That's a shame! Would have made making a new master much easier! Ironically enough, I just went to the store and I passed a late model Dodge pickup that had wheels that looked identical to those Chrysler car wheels!
  23. Thank you for those pics Steve!!!!! That wheel looks much more like what I'm looking for! Do you know if that Chrysler wheel was ever offered in a kit?
