  1. I'm almost done with a complete remodel of my hobby room and I found the bricks I was looking for. They're called MAGIC BRIK. No "c' in brick. You paint the base surface the color you want the mortar to be, lay down the mask, mix the dry powder "bricks". and spread it evenly over the mask. When dry, you peel the mask and there's your bricks with the mortat joint. I've used the stuff to create a scale version of the Veterans memorial we built in Winfield, IL. The stuff was wonderful and I think I'll order a batch. There are several suppliers online.
  2. You always have intertesting builds, Peter. I'm looking forward to seeing more results.
  3. Pretty sharp looking build, Don. Keep going.
  4. I looks mean and nasty - and shiny!
  5. Terrific looking build, Hertsi. And it's shiny - I like shiny paint.
  6. Check out the "What did you get today" posts. Somebody got a Tamiya paint stand for $9.99.
  7. Terrific looking build, Felix.
  8. I went all the way up to the Hobby Lobby in Ocala and got absolutely nothing. Thy have the same junk on their shelves month after month. On the good side, I'm getting closer to completing a total revamp of my hobby room. More work on it tomorrow and maybe I'll be able to complete it on Sunday or Monday.
  9. Congratulations, Mat. Best of everything to both of you.
  10. Why don't you guys just demand your money back?
  11. Nice looking interior.
  12. Glad to hear you liked my Brembo brakes castings, STewart. The van is tremendous.
  13. The only part I don't care for in MCM is the reviews towards the back of every issue. To me there's valuable space that could be used for something else - like more tips and techniques.
  14. Thanks for the pics, Bill. Yours along with the others are extremely helpful and I'll keep on trying.
  15. Looking good, Peter, although I think you need to use smaller gauge wire.
  16. You ain't kiddin', Luis. Thank to the members who have posted the helpful pics. I've been trying but still can't get it.
  17. Yeah for SHINY!
  18. Issue #158 finally showed up yesterday. Wearing my MCM shirt didn't help, but yesterday I wore the Pacific Northwest model show shirt that Jairus designed. That did the trick. Now. When is #159 coming out?
  19. Very nice weathering.
  20. I'm liking it, Jeff. Since it'll be a custom, it has to be shiny - right?
  21. The new '51 Henry J came today in the mail. Got a few bottles of Testor's paint and some Evergreen at the LHS. Hobby Lobby had the usual garbage selection so the 30% off sale was useless for me. I did get a package of round storage units though for the 25% off. And I stopped at Home Depot and bought a Dremel Stylus.
  22. I like it already. How about candy apple red with a white interior?
  23. Nice, Rob. The paint is nice and shiny and the engine nidely detailed. I like the sunglasses on the dash. Nice touch.
  24. Welcome to a very interesting forum. I used foamboard for the floor of a diorama and painted it with that texture spray paint to try and get a concrete look. Forget it! The paint warped the paper so bad it went in the garbage. I don't know the name of the stuff, but it's used to make signs. It appears to be plastic with cooregated plastic in between. Very light and very strong.
