  1. Thanks guys. Very nice kit. Everything went together very well. That hood was just screaming for some carbs to be sticking out of it.
  2. Just finished this puppy yesterday. I used Plastikote black primer as a basecoat and then shot HOK Pavo purple, followed by several coats of clear, sanded and polished. Wheels/tires are Pegasus, while the disk brakes are my Brembo castings. The bucket seats are also my castings. I cut out the grill and installed mesh.
  3. Haven't seen the new issue here in FLA yet.
  4. A man-cave to die for, Chris. Looks good. Do me a favot, though, and put a handrail on that staircase.
  5. I've ordered from Hobbylinc many times over the past couple of years and never had an issue with them.
  6. Thanks for the reply, Mark. I would never have thought about beer/pop cans as a source. I have all the other items you mentioned. I need to keep trying.
  7. I went to Lowe's on Monday to purchase one and they had the whole Dremel area torn down and in carts. Looks like they were doing a new display. I didn't get a stylus. Dremel returned my email about the difference between the 1100-01 and 1100-N/25 - N stands for no accessories and also said there's a new and improved model available.
  8. I didn't notice mine either until I posted it Under Glass and it was called to my attention.
  9. The Tamiya stand is the best thing since sliced bread. I still make use the bent clothes hangers and another item - empty prescription bottles. I put some lead to weign them down.
  10. Thank you. The kit interior was sanded away and replaced with Evergreen sheet. Can't see it too well in the pic but the floor is flocked. The hood comes off the wire hinge very easily, Harry.
  11. Fantastic looking build.
  12. That's an excellent kit. I've done a couple of them. Whatever color you choose, please make it shiny.
  13. Here's some pics of my just completed '40 Ford. I got the wheels on correctly this time. It's painted in HOK pagan gold over a gold base coat, sanded and polished. Interior has been redone and the buckets are my castings. This is my first shot at a 4 link suspension and I've learned a few things for the next one.
  14. Yeah - no rust. Don't you love it? Shine on.
  15. Hey Steve - I never doubted that you invented the spoon test paint procedure. How about sharing the leather tips and your chrome process with just me? I promise I won't share it your procedures with anyone.
  16. Thanks fellas. If you like the Camaro, you might also like the '40 Ford I'm working on - almost done. And I already checked the wheels and found them positioned wrong, so I switched them around. Who says old dogs can't learn?
  17. I bought one of those battery operated stirring things. It works very well. I don't drink coffee.
  18. Thanks for the pic, Gramps. I can't get even close to that - yet.
  19. Got it, Wayne. No, Chuck. It was molded in white, thank goodness.
  20. I've tried and tried to make throttle linkage. I have pins, small wire, a bunch of Plastrut, but still can't get it. Any and all help would really be appreciated - especially if there's pics! Thanks.
  21. What is that - a Divco? I like it and I really like that it's SHINY!
  22. Hey thanks, Danno. I'm trying to get my jobs down and I think I'm getting there. This hobby is so much fun - I love it.
  23. Whoa. That is some fantastic work!
  24. You ought to make it shiny instead of rusty.
  25. I have the bits & cutters I need and I have to go to Lowe's tomorrow. Maybe I'll check it out and see which one is cheaper (plus the 10% Veterans discount).
