  1. Thanks Dr. Cranky. SHINE ON!!
  2. I don't know if it would fit, but the Dremel twist chuck is available for their other rotary tools. I put them on the corded and cordless I have and love them. Don't need to use that little wrench anymore. What's the difference between the 1100-01 and 1100-N/25?
  3. Lookin' good, Toby. Keep goin' but check your front wheels - they're backwards. I did the same thing with my '83 Camaro. Correcting after it's built is a pain.
  4. Fishing line works great, Eelco. It's 30lb test line that I got at Wal-Mart - a reel of red and one clear. You got me, Wayne. 1369? I was an 0844. Brings back the good old days, doesn't it?
  5. Added another engine pic, Eelco. And the wheels are being repaired.
  6. Which plate, Wayne? Front or rear? I made up a bunch of the Vietnam Service ribbons in scale that you'll see on every one of my builds and several different Florida plates for myself.
  7. I took only that one pic of the engine, Eelco. I used the optional Weber carbs from the kit with clear fishing line for fuel lines and a piece of plastic hex rod for a fuel block. There's an oil dipstick in there too. I'll try to get a better pic for you. Most times when I try to get real close the pics come out blurry even when I set the camera to closeup (macro). Yeah. I screwed up on the wheels - again. I have to get my head on straight during assembly.
  8. Hey thanks guys. You're right about the wheels, Skip. I'll have to correct that issue. It seems like I keep making some silly little mistakes all the time. I need to pay more attention. It is the AMT kit that went together pretty well. I would have preferred the raditor overflow and windshield washer as seperate pieces - makes them easier to paint. I use the Paasche H single action airbrush for painting now. I normally use the #5 tip for painting but I switched to the #1 tip to do the fogging. I just try to keep on experimenting.
  9. Doesn't the Stylus come with a screwgun too? Looks like a nice tool.
  10. Just completed my 1983 Camaro. It's not much other than my normal but I'm trying out new painting techniques (new for me anyway). I primed with Plastikote grey and then did a stripe and lower body in white Plastikote primer. I tried to fog the white stripe with black Plasticote primer. Everything was then covered with HOK purple kandy, wet sanded and polished.
  11. You mean like a buffing machine used on a 1:1? That would be an excellent tutorial.
  12. Pretty neat looking place.
  13. Do we wish you a happy birthday or congratulate you on your anniversary? HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Harold.
  14. That was funny, Mike. I think the marble effect comes from putting a piece of Saran Wrap over wet paint and then lifting it off. A friend of mine did it on his Harley gas tank and it looked terrific. If I remember correctly, he sprayed a base coat and let dry, followed by a different color with retarder added so the paint wouldn't set up so quickly. I'd like to know how it's done in scale, too.
  15. I'll betcha that we'll hear it here when these kits hit the stores or online sources. I'm thinking a couple of VW's for sure.
  16. Thank you for inventing the spoon paint test procedure, Steve. Impressive collection of spoons, George. I drill a hole in the spoon handle and put it on a shower curtain ring.
  17. Never heard about soaking the paper, Mike. Why is that? Make it softer?
  18. Well I'm interested, Ben, depending on the price.
  19. Nice color Hertsi. Can't wait to see more of this build.
  20. I set the faucet to a slow stream and keep dipping the sandpaper and part into the stream while sanding. If I'm sanding the body after painting, I put a little squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid into a container and add water. Then dip the sandpaper into the container. The Dawn seems to lubricate the sandpaper.
  21. Sounds like a great idea to offer a van, but how much is this thing going to cost?
  22. Love that shiny blue. Where do you get all those Samuri's?
  23. The sheriff down here has a reverse 911 system hooked up. When severe weather is approaching, you get a call on your home or cell, or whatever phone you want connected, to advise you of severe weather. Horns and/or sirens wouldn't work around here because it's pretty rural.
  24. Bare Metal Foil, Cole. Great stuff for the chrome trim on your builds. Some people use it as a mask for painting. I usually buy it from Scale Dreams.
  25. I was trying to make a 4 link rear suspension using Evergreen rod. I heated an end and smashed it flat with a hammer, sanded round, drilled a hole and added a #2 or 3 bead crimp. For bolts I drilled out some Plastrut hex rod and cutoff thin slices for a nut and some others for a bolt. It wasn't looking too bad until DanielG posted a pic of necklace end caps. I got samples in 2 sizes and they'll work real well.
