Rain?? It's sunny and about 83 here in west central FLA. Everyday is a great day to build models. I was out in the shop building a display case with plexiglas and trying to build a 4 link suspension for the '40 Ford I started. The '71 Duster is almost done - battery hook up and final polish to go. The '83 Camaro is almost ready for paint. If you get too much rain up there, please send a little bit down here.

Somehow I missed this build - but I now I found it and it's very nice. I like the surf board deal better than a hearse and would dump the casket as a surf board carrier. What about hinging the casket and put some water related items in it like SCUBA tanks, snorkel tubes, mask, fins, etc?

What's an intercoat clear? I've heard the term before but don't understand what it is or what it's used for.

Not problem Foxer. I believe it was Ian Ashton who suggested that wire several months ago. I picked it on an Ebay store.

I'm planning on entering my Deuce coupe.

Do a google on kynar wire. It's the correct gauge and goes in a variety of colors at a very reasonable cost. I guess this kynar stuff is used on PC motherboards and gaming consoles. My neighbor & friend stopped over Wednesday with I was working on the engine of an '83 Camaro build. I told him I was going to use either lavender or gray ignition wire. He said it wouldn't be correct unless I used yellow (Accel) wires or red (MSD) wires. I remove the copper wire from telephone wire and use the vinyl covering for spark plug boots. The wire is way too large for ignition wire. I don't care about the correct 1:1 color. This is my build and I do them the way I want.

In high school & college I played defense for the Lyons (Illinois) Bruins, but I've always been a fan of the Montreal Canadiens. There was always something about Henri Richard's playing ability. One game I put my stick on the ice at the wrong time. The opponent continued his shot and his stick caught just above the eye. Didn't feel a thing until after the game. I blocked his shot though. Nowadays, I don't play, don't watch, and don't care who wins.

Buesman Mark - you have all those Parts Packs - why haven't you ever used them?

Can't hurt to try it out, Mike. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is stretching the solder. pull a length of solder from the reel, but leave it attached. Get a grip with some pliers at the loose end and pull. You'll feel the solder strectching and making it straight as an arrow. Then cut off the length you'll need.

Kroger??? I haven't seen one of those stores in about 50 years. They closed in Illinois when I was a kid and haven't seen one since.

I'd like to hear from a Chevelle specialist too. Your builds look good - as always.

Solid core solder - no resin!! I've painted the solder, just polished it up. Never cleared it either.

I've used the .062 solder for headers and exhaust pipes. Somewhere down the exhasut line, I use some aluminum tubing for a muffler and more tubing for the exhaust tips. Mike - have you tried brass rod in the Evergreen tubing? Even copper wire (electrical stuff) works. Insert the rod in the tubing and bend away. The brass and/or copper will hold the shape of the bend.

It looks better live. Paul had it at the Gainesville show last weekend. He took it outside in the sun and that puppy really sparkles. Super paint, Fatkidd. Paul's painting abilities have earned him a spot on my hate list. Great work Fatkidd!

I've had that Custom Parts for Pickups for decades. Every once in awhile I open the box to see what's in there. Most of the parts are still in the box because I always forget about them.
