Ken, thanks for the Big Lots tip! I just stopped by my local store at lunch and got a "springer donation chopper" for $6. Maybe I'll cut the forks closer to stock length and have a springer frontend for my old school bobber build.

Gregg, If it's for your chopper you're building for NNL West, and you can wait - a leading resin supplier will be offering one sometime in the next month or two...

The raked out Crusader looks great! I had that one first, then got an Aces Wild a few weeks back. My Aces will be raked like yours. Keep up the great work!

Wicked! That is looking so good. I love your use of the skull air cleaner with the addition of the two venturi tubes. Springer fork looks to be from an $8 diecast I've seen on eBay? I just picked up a Shaker Trike that will donate the stretched springer forks to my next chopper.

Did that car just eat a canary? One of you "modern day mudslingers" should graft some '67 GTO clips on there and mimic a red Hotwheels I saw a few years back. Definitely some custom possibilities here for retro-look, pro-touring ponycars.

Nicely done, Billy! I always liked that color scheme. I even thought of doing my Lindberg '66 Chevelle up in black and gold with pro touring wheels. Don't sweat the paint issues - it looks good from here. "Best Darn Garage in Town!"

One of these days I'm going to use this method, instead of installing a tonneau cover, like I always do. :roll:

I've found that Castrol Super Clean (CSC) will take the lacquer undercoat off, but it takes a while. Typically, the chrome plating is gone within an hour but the undercoat takes 2-3 days. I just drop the parts in and leave them in there for the week. Definitely use rubber gloves for removing the stripped parts from the CSC bath. Auto parts stores usually have "solvent gloves" that are rubber and fairly inexpensive that are made to protect from all sorts of nasty chemicals.
