  1. Oh Yesssss!!!!!!!
  2. I used to call that series of Caprice "Whale:. It was one big car. Back in the day, I was a manager at a Buick store, and my ride of choice was the Roadmaster. One of my demos was a '94 LT1 Estate wagon in Jadestone, with the Beige Leather and woodgrain. When the Auto Show came around, my demo was the only one available in the Metropolitan area. GM wanted the car, so they bought the car from the dealership with 2000 miles on it. It was shown at the show. When no one bought it, it was sold back to the dealership at a big discount, and I got it back as a demo, and put another 3000 miles on it before someone bought it. I should have bought it, but I had bought a new Bonneville SSE about 7 months earlier, and it would not have been financially prudent to do so. Those Roadmaster Estate wagons were rare when they were new, and I am quite sure that the Caprice Wagons were equally rare. I may do my Modelhaus Wagon (yes I have one) as either a phantom "SS", an Estate (woody), or as a Police Wagon. The job on that build was not too bad, but if it were me, I would get a fresh sheet of Bare Metal Foil, and a sharp x-acto knife blade, and re-do the chrome trim. Other than that, It's a nice model.
  3. Excellent!!!!
  4. Crusty!!!! Very well done!!
  5. Fantastic work!! Beautiful!!
  6. Go get 'em Tommy!!!! By the way I have a couple of '63 Olds Starfires myself, and I like them. I only wish that they kitted the '62 as a Starfire.
  7. The Revell '72 Olds gave me an accurate Olds big block engine. I had to juggle a few things around, but it fits fine, and looks fine under the hood. It also has the A/C plumbing that I want tooI have the correct air cleaner for it too. I still have to rig up an exhaust system, and a drive shafr, but that is no problem for me. My Dad's '65 98 had the "Starfire" 425 engine, which was rated at 370 HP That car was one of my favorites. I only wish that a 98 was kitted, but you have to work with what you have, and the expense level to turn the Dynamic 88 into a 98 was quite prohibitive as the core model was not cheap to say the least. I am getting a real kick out of this one, I only hope that the paint rubs out decently. I am not going to touch it until next week. Now I have to find 3 shades of blue for the interior, and some flocking..
  8. Thanks. I like them too. I have a couple of rebuilder '65 Wildcat Annuals in my stash. I may turn one into a convertible if I cannot find a cheap promo that I can work over. I want to do an accurate '66 Wildcat GS, which means I have to scratchbuild an interior, and re-do the emblems. I am going to take the guts from a AMT '66 Riviera for the conversion. When we were kids we had some of the AMT annuals. Since my dad had a '65 Olds, and my uncle had a '65 T-Bird, I had to get both of those, but I also had a Lincoln Continental Sedan, and a Olds. We liked rolling models, as we had daily races in the summer. The Wildcat rolled best, with the Olds a close second. I mocked it up today, and it's looking pretty good. Now I have to find a few things to complete it, and I can get moving. I plan to have it finished next week.
  9. Very Nice!!!
  10. Beautiful Job, but I expect no less from you. Have fun at Salt Lake!!!!
  11. I painted it tonight. Sorry there are no pics yet, as it is drying as I write this. I found a can of Dark Blue Duplicolor in the basement, and I shot it. I did not do a clear coat on it, and I may not do it, as I have found that some colors look deeper when polished without the clear coat. I am going to use Mcguiar's #7 on it, as the paint is actually pretty smooth. I hope to paint the chassis and interior tomorrow if weather permits, after I do my yard work. I'll take a few pictures soon.
  12. Very nice build. I had 2 hatchbacks for Demos. A white '82 with a 4-speed manual, and a Silver '83 with an automatic. I liked both of them.
  13. I know it looks a little plump, but I know what to do to correct it.
  14. I like the Light Blue. One of my neighbors had a light blue '59 Sport Fury Convertible with a white top and a medium blue metallic interior. That car was pretty sharp, and the man kept that car in excellent condition.
  15. Fortunately, I have an original, unbuilt, AMT 1965 GTO annual. It is light years ahead of anything they had done recently, but as a kit, it is old school with the wire axles and moulded in chassis detail. I had considered trying to do a combination of the Polar Lights' '64 GTO, updated to '65 Specs. I do not know if he has any more, but Missing Link Resin had done a Resin Transkit, which had the original bumpers and a resin copy of the original promo hardtop body. I want to do that annual I have as a convertible.
  16. After seeing this beast in person, and following along on this thread, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! Excellent workmanship and detail second to none.
  17. For the last couple of days, Decades TV has been running episodes of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Yesterday, they ran the episodes with the spy car. I did not see all of them, but I have a pretty good idea of what it looked like on the show. Personally, I feel that they could have had a better car for their work, as it was awfully small, and they had to open the gull wing doors to shoot out of it. Nice looking car though.
  18. I forgot about these.
  19. Ahhh, much better.
  20. Al, I for one, have no problem with what you are doing to that Imperial. Funny thing, several years ago at the Toledo NNL, I purchased a rather dilapidated '68 Imperial promo in Blue, with the Black 1/2 Vinyl Roof. Fortunately, Don Holthaus was there, and I was able to buy a set of front and rear chrome, and a set of '68 Imperial Promo wheelcovers, and a Chrysler 300 boot. The "A" pillars were busted, and there was a crack in the side of the body. I fixed the crack, and decided on a convertible. I made a set of dog legs, and pirated the windshield frame and the basic seats and floor from a JoHan '68 Chrysler 300. Funny, at the same NNL later in the day, I picked up another '68 Imperial Promo, this one in Turbine Bronze with a Black 1/2 Top. The chrome on it was beat up, so I visited Don Holthaus again, and bought another set of chrome for it. He asked me if I lost the first set of chrome, as I had not been an hour since I bought the other chrome. I told him I picked up another '68 Imperial. The plan is to do them as bookends, so I painted the convertible Turbine Bronze, but I wanted a white interior in it. Your work on that Imperial brought back some good memories of that transaction, and reminded me that I have to get to work on the Hardtop. Fortunately, the hardtop may not need painting. Just Bare Metal and paint detail. I know that one will be a killer, along with your other work. I cannot wait to see the finished car.
  21. Beautiful work, Bob!!!!
  22. I have these 1961 Fleetwood Sixty Specials to finish restoring. Both were decent builders, and the yellow was was unpainted. The beige one was painted and stripped. I scratch-built the fin tips. One will definitely be Black, while the other will be a light metallic color..
