  1. Finally got some paint on this one. Testors' Artesian Turquoise, with white bumblebee and White/Black custom interior trim. I have not decided on the running gear, as I may do it as a "day two" car, with period wheels and tires. We're gettig closer.
  2. Get your hands on either a Revell '58 (recently reissued), or preferably a Revell '59 Corvette kit, and get a resin '60 Trans-kit from Replicas and Miniatures Co, of MD,( if they are still available), as well as a Model Car Garage Photoetch Set for the '58-62 Corvette. That is how I am going to do mine. That will yield the most convincing replica.
  3. If you want a smooth finish, you should use a styrene friendly primer, such as Plasticote Sandable Primer. I had to strip the finish from a '67 Camaro I am working on, and I just went through the same thing with a couple of glue-bombs of my own. Invest in some of those 8-way fingernail files from the dollar store. You will be surprised at what can come out of a previously bad build.
  4. Can't ask for a better build of that model. I am very impressed.
  5. Patience Grasshopper. I have a little to do to it before I take pictures. Hopefully tomorrow.
  6. Here is a '61 Vailant I reworked to be built. Those old AMT '60 - '62 Valiants have some of the worst mould line I have never seen on a kit. I even has to replace the windshield and rear window mouldings. Here's another sedan, a 1960 which has to be worked. I took the skirts off, and here's what I found. And the other side.... And let's not forget this 'Crispy Critter". This is what I found under the styline pieces. Believe it not, the mess has been cleaned up, and it too its awaiting it's turn to be resurrected.
  7. I had a couple of those kits. One I sold on Ebay, and got twice what I paid for it. The second one is still in the stash, waiting to be built, and it is not for sale, and I regret selling the first one.
  8. I got the Camaro painted, Turquoise with the white stinger, and White interior trimmed in black. I plan to clear it tomorrow, as well as finiishing off the interior. With any luck, I should be able to take a few pictures of the progress made on the model. It seems to be going together fairly easy.
  9. I repainted it this evening. I'll see what it looks like when it dries out.
  10. Well disater struck today. I applied primer to the Camaro with no problem. Then I went to paint the body. The hood and rear roll pan came out ok. Then I went to paint the body, and disaster struck. The paint came out with what looked like a "hammered' effect. To add insult to it, I ran out of paint. Well, I stripped it, and re-blocked the car. We will try again tomorrow. Fortunately I did not paint the interior yet, other the dash, console, steering column, floorboard and package tray, which I did in black. The original plan was to paint the car Marina Blue, with either a blue or white/black interior. Since I am out of Marina Blue, I have to select another color. The good thing is I was able to put more work into the body, and I have plenty of alternative paint to use. This time I am going to start with a brand new can of paint.
  11. At least it was not all pooped out!!!!!!!
  12. The car was not that bad. There were a lot worse cars on the market at that time.
  13. I like it!!! I picked up another '57 Ford. No decision on how it's going to be, but your build is giving me a couple of ideas.
  14. Very nice!
  15. This an annual '65 Corsa, which is in line for primer, paint and finishing. I mocked it up to check for fit, and it is ready to be done. I love Corvairs.
  16. Very Nice. Welcome!!!!!
  17. Looks good to me.
