Thank you Bill, thanks Carl............ the station really is 1-24th scale . The office building really was 10 X 10 by 18 ft at the top . I have a hand written copy of the building permit too. Oh for what it's worth, we actually saw the Turbine car re- fuel on occasion at this place too . Ed Shaver

Built in 1923 at the corner of Roseneath Road and Patterson Avenue in Richmond Virginia This station survived as is to 1965. In 1965 , the city Fire Marshall deemed the entire structure to be in violation of fire saftey codes as it was built from Stucco over a wood frame . These buildings were then replaced by a very bland Brick Colonial Revivial building with a single attached garage which replaced the outdoor lift . It's not known exactly for certain in what years this station was a dealer for Conoco Oil products . It was known that Conoco was sold up to at least 1940. Sometime at that point , the station was re- branded as a Richfield Oil station as the main Jobber has records that were lent to me in researching this building . This is also where I have childhood memories of going up to this station and buying Coca - Colas for a nickel ! In 1965 as I mentioned , the building was replaced by a very bland Colonial Revivial building with a single attached garage which then replaced the outdoor grease rack. It was also the end of the Richfield era as well. Sinclair which was actually the parent company of Richfield from back in 1930 when Richfield went bankrupt and then operated as two companies , Richfield New York and Richfield of California . In 1968, the Sinclair name gave way to B P Oil of England as the former Sinclair jobber , Dennis Oil became a dealer for them then . At the same time, Atlantic Refining , ( A Former Standard Oil trust company ), Richfield Oil , and Sinclair oil had merged into the new company known today as Arco of Los Angles oil company. The tiony corner station operated as a B P until the middle 1980's when it became a Dry Cleaner drop off point . This model represents " Experimental cars in a What - If senerio in 1965. Ed Shaver

AMC engine metallic blue substitue
Eshaver replied to drodg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry Mark the old A M C Blu- Green was definetly more of a wierd Teal color . I worked on enough of those Javelins, A M X's and then Matadors . I certainly couldn't recomend the Pontiac blue as it was way too silvery . If anything , mix some Testors Candy Blue with a dab of Candy Green on a white base . Even then , it wont be 100% Ed Shaver -

Looking at the piece breakdown sure looks like a lot of ole " Throwback stuff to me ". Now I mean that in a positive light too ! Shoot, the Halibrand rear, the Moon discs , even the old S C O T Blower lends itself well to a lost era . To me , it says , the way we were ............. Ed Shaver

George , YOU DIDN'T REALLY READ WHAT I HAD TO SAY ! I TRIED TO EXPLAIN HOW THE CADILLACS WERE NOT A " FACTORY OFFERING !" In fact I, think that American Sunroof was the contract shop that built those El Dorados and Sevelles . As you should recal in previous phone conversations , I had and still have friends that are G M employees . Ed Shaver

71 Delta 88 Kit Pics (Photos Restored)
Eshaver replied to David G.'s topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
As a former owner of a Delta 88 both a 69 Convertable and a 79 sedan , I must say that the 1971 certainly looks impressive enough. I'll have to weigh in though on the nearly 70.00 price tag at this time though .... Ed ShAVER -
Doug, the same might be said for the Cadillac Sevilles I saw in and around Dallas back in the day . They had Booo Koo bondo in the quarters to fill where the shop that contracted these "Custom " jobs had done to help expedite the delivery of them . As for a market for these cars , yes , I think that there will be a niche market for this type of a automobile . I for one nay sayed the Custom Van market years ago. As In was a manufacturer of van accessories of Custom van parts , I sold the majority of my products to small shops that produced one van a week . For years I actually turned down a lot of the " Dealer - Custom Van shops simply because I didn't want my products in those kinds of vans ! I relented only during the 1979 gasoline shortage because I saw the handwriting on the wall. Still the idea of vacum Forming a complete wall for a van really bothered me . How anyone could call that a custom interior was beyond me . Soon , drink holders were being manufactured the very same way . Thankfully, I had just sold out to a Dealer Custom van company in Dallas . I left the industry never to return . These types of vans seem to still appeal to a select market today , why I dunno. To me a Custom van is customized primarily by it's owner . They were never intended to be sold off an assembly line and then painted the same way . Still, like the " Custom Convertables ", these dealer Conversionn vans seem to have a niche market .Ed Shaver

You are also supposed to provide at least a photocopy of the kit instruction sheet in this class. I hope that suffently answered yer question ............ next ??? Ed Shaver
