George, in addition to just hobby shops , try all the craft shops , doll house shops and even I P M S .... yeah , they're a bunch of airplane builders , still you can spark intrest from the car people who have heard every horrifying tale of Japanise helecopter kits . Also since warm weather is comming , visit a few Cruise nights , yep print flyers advetising the desire to get a club together . Put them where car people gather . You'll be suprised as to who shows up . Ed Shaver

  16. The only Dodge Coronets that come to mind were the hardtops that A M T did as a result of a secret partnership between M P C in 1965 and the Polar lights kits that came out as Pre-painted kits . The A M T kit couldn't be built stock and I've never built either of the Polar Light kits . Ed Shaver

  19. Porky , Primer and Primer sealant are two different products . Lets start with what a primer actually does er don't . Primer will show flaws and places where the surface is flawed . A good primer will also allow the paint something to adhere to. Sure , sanding is good , always sand before ya prime . Now sealers are used in cases where a " Top - Coat " may be questionable . To site an example , the last car I did was a Ford Customline 56 Model for a customer . He didn't want to strip the paint . I was reluctant but I agreed to do a repaint on the car . I sanded the paint and as a result numerous coats were revealed from 1956 too. On doing the Body work , I used Por -15 a rust neutralizer paint to combat some rust that was forming . Now I know you dont need this on plastic but it sure works good on metal ! Anyway , after I got the car in my favorite N A P A primer , i then used a sealer to nutralize any effects of the undercoats or of the por -15 on the new enamel paint . The secret to using a sealer is simple . On appliling this product , shoot a top coat about 30 minutes after you shoot the sealer . This will make you're adhesion a little better . However , on a plastic model , I don't think a sealer is nessesary . unles you plan on using several kinds of paint , ie laquers and enamels . look , go back to Advance or whereever ya got the paint and simply exchange it for a Sandable primer . Problem solved , next victim ! Ed Shaver

  25. Well, I shouldn't even bother . I had a year and a half of college . Still , I have been the photographer for two books , written one , and owned two sucessful business. I'm still active in two national car clubs as a tech advisor . The simple fact of the Bacelors degree wil always prevent me from getting such a position . Ed Shaver
