Eshaver replied to Eshaver's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the picture ! I had this one aong with a Revell 57 Ranchero years ago before Hurricane Agness took out my entitre collection in 1973. I had most if not all the kits avalible back to 1960...... I would guess it was around 400 kits .Ed Shaver -

I was the photographer for the book Check the Oil by Scott Anderson in 1983 Ed Shaver

Does anyone have any historical knowlege that they could share with me concerning the P M C plastics company ? I would just like to know when the founded and mabye who took over the molds as in resin and mabye if anyone knows , what they made . I recenty aquired a 1954 Plymouth Wagon body and I'm curious as to what they made as I know they did a couple of Plymouths and Im told some Oldsmobiles too. I guess the second part is this , who made the resin of their 54 Plymouth wagon ? Ed Shaver

Why i dont post pictures
Eshaver replied to gray07's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ya know , I wouldda never thunk that a Computer would run an automobile engine either ! Look , Ive worked on the old Volkswagen , the old Volvo and even a couple of Rhochester units in my day . I do wel remember a 57 Chevrolet Bel Air with the Mechanical Fuel injection ! Oh yeah , You fiddled and fought those things . I grew up and watched my own father as he was an employee of I B M . I was there to see one of the first Tape drives being demonstrated in 1958 . Point is Grey , you are allowing yourself to be " Demonized " by a few . FORGET THEM !!!!!! if you won't post a picture of you're work cause you think you will get a bunch of nay sayers well then P- M me and I 'll set em straight ! Ya know how ya get good , ya practice on stuff and don't let the "Nay sayers" beat ya down son ! Ed Shaver -

ebay Jo-Han POLICE PURSUIT CAR
Eshaver replied to tuffone20's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not just this car, it seems to be prevelent within the hobby or should I say profession of "Yuppie Speculators " who grab something and hoard it unti they think they can finance a retirement on something . Ive gone to too mamy shows and laughed at these poor miserable creatures sitting there slobberly taking up room on the vendor foor trying to pawn off their wares as EXTREMELY RARE an Highly sought after artifacts ! Give me a break children .I build old kits , GASP !!!!!!!!! I bought a 61 Buick Special wagon and yep , I built it using some genuine G M laquer on it too ! So what , I was able to work this clown to a reasonabe figgure so I bought it too . As for ths seller on Evil Bay , I hope he espouses a Meuseuem for his collection one of these days ! Ed Shaver -
AMT 25 T Double kit review with pics
Eshaver replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Just for everyones information , the Testor's Model T kit IS A REPOP of much of A M T 's 1965 offering . Let me explain a might here . Yes , the body is Diecast and the box says 1-24th . However , check inside and what you get are many of the pieces the A M T kit had like the "Tall Body " , the seats , and even the chassis was VERY similar with steerable wheels too ! Now disregard the Chevrolet engine in the Testor Kit , throw in the Lincon , add the older A M T wheels , Bamm A M T ! Those Clever Chineese engineers changed just enough stuff to get around paying A M T a royalty fee ! If ya look closely at the upper right side there is a converted STOCK Ford Model T I built using the body from a Testor kit and A M T's fenders and wheels . Stop the whinning Children , all is not lost ! Ed Shaver -
Lets see your older kits
Eshaver replied to gray07's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Boy oh boy , they sure don't sell em like dat no mo ...................... Ed Shaver -
Has there been a kit for the 1970s VW Bus?
Eshaver replied to Aaronw's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dav , to add a note to you're comment why the heck have so many Kwell models like a Sudebaker Coupe Express Pick only come out as DieCast models , or a 41 Chevrolet as only a die cast street rod ? I agree a couple of nice plastic models of Volkswagen Vans I bet would have a decent market too. Ed Shaver -
Peter, once again , you'r e work is immpeccible !!!!!! Oh the engine came yesterday an thank you for sending to it's new home . Ed Shaver

Well you might try to locate some microscope viewing slides . These Flat slides will work on American cars at least to about 1964 as the side windows were then starting to go curved . By genty breaking the thin glass , you might be able to replicate some damage there . Ed Shaver

Welcome Chris , I used to work for A A A Arizona and I lived in Measa . Thats not too far away as you were in Phoenix . Now you can add me ............. Ed Shaver

Regarless of his name , the bodies he has sent to me have always been first rate . Ive always been real happy with them except when will he realize he needs to do a tail light and a licence plate bracket for the 55-7 Chevrolet panels and Surburbans . Ed Shaver

The great " General " really blundered it when this Kamm back never saw a show past the prototype stage . Volvo showed the world when they did their stunning P- 1800 sport wagen back in the early 70's . Dodge showed the world yet again that Sport wagons really do have a niche in society . meanwile you're model is to me a Winna ! Ed Shaver
