  2. Gotta love the NEW Law firm of Palosi - Reed and Clinton !!!! Ed Shaver
  3. Howard and everyone else invo;ved with show dates might look to ISCA or the International Show Car association , Years ago when Vans wer popular, I being a Manufacturer of Van accessories became a member of the Southern Van Council , or S V C . The origional intent was to coordinate " Truck- Ins " with in the Gulf coast region of the United States . We would then publisj a news letter and also forward the same information to the National Street Van Council as well as magazines pertaining to Vans then ! With this information, OTHER van groups outside of the Gulf region of the states : Texas, Oaklahoma , Lousinia , Missisippi, Alabama and Floridia all had the dates of ANY FUTURE VAN EVENT! Sadly this group became a meeting place to B & G ! If only Petty differences and Ego's could have been left at home ! Many of you might want to know I:M the same ( Scrubba ) thats alive and somewhat well today, My health issues abound , but hey working in a Cabinet shop without decent resporation will do that to ya . As I used to say and still do on another Forum, ' See ya on the Road Folks " !!! Ed Shaver
  4. Keep the price right and the quality reasonable , heck put me in for one . Ed Shaver
  5. Lyle, thank you for sharing the pictures ! There is some real talent in there ! I enjoyed both the Vintage Hot rod and of course the Lime Caminio. Very "Period" , well done and exicuted . Ed Shaver
  6. Hey kids it was 1955-56 that these 1-32 scale kits were made , Dennis Doty of the now defunct Model Car Journal did a great article about these kits years ago . He also mentions then when ever Collectabe Automobile Magazine does stories about the Buicks , Chryslers amd I for get the other . I seem to recall the three cars also were sold as one kit at one time too. Dang , I'm getting old ! Ed Shaver
  7. Uh , had a friend who worked for Barris bout the time that the Futura was getting a Makeoner . I was informed that the Fiberglass " Stunt cars were using standard Sedan frames and 390 Engines . Sure , do yer homework, and I'll buy one ! I spent Years doing the research on the 1955 G M C L' Universalle . I even got so far as to almost complete a 1-1 L'Universalle. Problem was, we couldm't figgure out hoe to pwere the transmission . Remember , this was a Fromt Wheel drive . Years later Rick Wagner while he was still with G M informed me that the transaxle was a Pontiac Tempest Prototype ! As to what I might do thats different " Hey how about a : Correct Dosge Deora Truck ? Harley Earl's Y Job comes to mind . The Lesabre show car was modeled once by Palmer of all people , not bad too. I think if you ask Clay he would sugest a Studebaker Coupe Express Pick up hey , lets go to de races! I would like to see a decent job done to the old Monogram 55 Ford Panel Delivery, look at the roof ! Somebody sat on it ! Ed Shaver
  8. Hey .keep us posted as to hoe this one comes out , Firdt I appaide the use of a not common color and the cact that it's an over looked subject ( 50-51 Chevrolets ) Ed Shaver
  9. Hey kids, sorry for the absense but I aquired a 1978 Ford Stepside with 62.000 on the dash for a Hundred ! Now it's a 300 six, no power nuthin and I MEAN NO POWER NUTHIN. I have to change muh own gears ho hum.......... No power locks to go " BLOYEY" No PRINDIL TO keak transmission fluid all over the driveway. My 78 Ford van does a fine job of that already and the big nezs, ARE YA READY?????????????? NO COMPUTER TO BLOW OUT ! Hey Chrysler see if ya can top that ? Now aeriously, all jokes aside , I have a 78 Ford Van thats going to cost nearly a thousand to ovwer haul the engine in it . It has power steering in it , a Saganaw type to be exact. How much agrivation would it entail for me to swap steerong boxes ? From my perspective , looks the same to me but Pick ups and Vans that Ford Make don't seem to share parts like the Chevrolets did . I'm running the same engine in both vehicles, a 300 six cylinder. Both are the F- 150 series Second question, OH OH Jere we go , I need to name the new truck . My 1953 Panel Delivery was named Mabellene for the Chuck Berry tune . Yeah , that Flathead has overheated too! The van was named Elvis cause it had No smog controls and other stupid stuff on it . The Chrysler was simply , the Chrysler from Hell it nearly Bankrupted me ! Oh , in cas yall think I'm not modeling yer wrong! I'm very hard at work doing " Sub- assemblies " for the Amoco Projek! Ed Shaver
  10. Actually Ryan I am Flathead Gary was kind enough to send me several pictures of Wy;;is Pick-Up trucks A couple were even complete enough to help verify some needed details . I already had some poor quality pictures of Wyllis trucks from a Kalmback book on trucks . I also had an article from Vintage Truck Magazine showing even more but not everything from a 1939 Model. The kicker was the Diamond tread running boards! Thae and the gas filler neck gave me what I needed to make a whole truck . I still used the "Street Grille " from the A M T kit as metal was in short supply even in 1948. I akso built a wood push bar as the Wyllis truck I'm building will be used to simulate a tow truck of sorts. Meanwhile the Americar coupe will be displayed besides the American Regular grade pump as the attendent puts in the vuel for the nice lady besige the car. I promise to post Pictures George ! He reads better with pictures .......... Ed Shaver
  11. Rtan , thank you for sharing the pictures , Im building two Stock Wyllis's for the Amoco Projek, ( SEE DIORAMAS ) One will be the Americar as you built and the other , gasp, a truck . Yes they both have the piddlin 4 Bangers in them . I enjoyed seeing yours ! Ed Shaver
  12. " DANGER WILL ROBINSON......... DANGER " ................... Es Shaver
  13. Hey George , he probany studied Micro phisics at U C Berkley too !!!!! Ed Shaver
  14. Gseeds, somethimg tells me ya mighta been into the " Custom Van " scene back in the early seventies. Biscut Tufting was all the Rage then and from the looks of the French curve couch in the Paddy wagon , well ya give yerself away. Very handy tip there ! However let me warn everyone that "Foam plates are sensitive as to what adhesives you use and what Paints to use as well. Generally using White or Testors White glue is safe as well as epoxies . Paints are yet another area where you are better off using acrylics on if you're not sure what to use . Nowiffini yer bent and determined to use " Hot paints", seal with a coat of Elmers glue and then Paint over top ............ That will work as I have had to do much the same thing when I'm building my service stations .......... Ed Shaver
  15. Hey kids , Nascar used to be about REAL CARZ not the Junk ya see in T V these days ! In gact Richard Petty used to teailer car here to Richmond and I would often go by where he and his family would stay here in Richmond and yeah we would talk shop then, Nascar wasnt all ADVERTISIN ALL DE TIME THEN! It was a real sport , I don't follow it today simply because you cant buy a Generis Chevrolet with a V-B or Ford Rear and two doors. Yep like Elvis, Nascar died with him ! Hey I have work to do............... Ed Shaver
  16. Ernie, I sent out an envelope of Wide Ovalls to another forum member . Really in 1-25thscale you're not really going to be able to note a difference . meanwhile try American Satco Tires. They are distributed through a couple of advertisers in Model Cars Magazine I think . Meanwhile their address is American Satco- P O BOX 38 Stanley Iowa 50671-0038 . Sorry , I don't have any computer information on them, maybe someone else does . Ed Shaver
  17. IRVIN , USE THE CLUTCH, USE THE DANG CLUTCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  18. Eric , the answer is simple for me . I grew up in the service station industry. I was the photographer for the book , Check the Oil by Scott Anderson written in 1982. I have restored cars , owned a towing company . a couple of Taxis and I owned Art- Forms Design , a Van accessory company in Houston Texas back in the day. Now whay would't I want models of some of the "Rides " I have helped to create? Ed Shaver
  19. Heck If I stillowned an El Caminio, I would have stayed home to have worked on it too, specially with the " Joy stick on de floor " !!!! Ed Shaver
  20. As a former employee of a radio station , my hats off ! well done ! Dave a short comment here ........ A M towers all have fences around them because they are ELECTRFIED AND IF TOUCHED WHILE HOT , WILL KILL!!! I can see that you have a F M tower as the F M signal does not require a " Hot " tower. By the way , I was fired for playing the Steppenwolf song- " The Pusher " Ed Shaver
  21. Humm.......... never cared too much for the three piece rear window . Still , I worked on a couple of the Roadmasters for restoration customers , I think you did you're homework on this one . Very nice outcome ! I agree with Crazy an George , how about shooting some more photographs for us ? Ed Shaver
  22. To tell ya'all the tuth , I voted for RON PAUL!!! Ed Shaver
  23. CHILDREN.......... PLEASE BUY A COPY OF Michiael Savages Book Liberalisim is a Mental Disorder. I stess this book constantly because I'm constantly surrounded by "Touchy"- Feel gooders and other bumbling idiots that work withinn Virginia State government jobs that given the circumstanse to have to work in the Private sector couldn't survive more than a day ! O K , call me a nut ! Call me crazy, still stop for a momen and reason to what we Libatarians REALLY beleive ! We are not the Gun toten wack jobs who pound our bibles and spew hatred , well unfoutanately some do Sorry Michiael Savage . I am strongly for Commmon sense in everything I do. Yes I don't post much but it's on account of not having a working computer or a means to pay to fix one . I'm also in the process of a lot of very serious family issues and I'm probably going to wind up moving somehere out of state from where I was residing , but I'm getting off track. Point is , LOOK at what LIBERIAL thinking wins up doing in the long term............... Ed Shaver
  24. Mr. Synder, I have to agree with you here . The point you made concerning the "over " twenty dollars was right on the money, no pun intended just fact. Same goes for the 1964 Fairlane too. Lok , if Revell thinks they can make a decent return at 25,00+ THEN GO FER IT KIDS! Im going to simply build what i already have or buy scratch builing supplies and , Revell, oh well........... Ed Shaver
  25. Attention Resin Castrs, heres yur chance to make sumpthin I might even buy ! It's not the same ole BLA BLA I see at every show and I might even consider it should it ever become available , Ya listening JODY???? Ed Shaver
