Hey, didn't Alfred E . Numan a man I admire too pose for a similar photograph years ago with the immortal words......... " What Me worry ? " Ed Shaver And yeah , I worry an I sweat the details !!!!!!!!! -
Uh watching a show on television last night brought a startling discovery to me . I saw where in Concord North Carolina , ( Nice city too ) where they have a FOUR LANE DRAG STRIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah a four lane one of a kind jewel ! Meanwhile they were running a top eliminator shoot out four at a time ! Whww...... some of these copetetiors were from Richmond Virginia where I am typing this verbager from . I've been desperately trying to find some crash parts for the wifes 87 L X with out any luck . I see why now , heck they;re all beeing used in top eliminator classes ! I't no wonder I can't find several pieces to these cars . Ya ever tried to drive yer models to de grocery store , I bet they get superior milage ! Ed Shaver

Steve, I'll be honest with you , I never knew of aresin Wyllis truck . I wasdesperately trying to find anything from 1938 to 41 in Wyllis whhen I finially got a A M T re-issue to do in a hobby shop that got a returned kit . I was trying to do s stock ( GASP ) He really said that too Wyllis truck . Flathead Gary sent me some real good photos of a somewhat stock Wyllis and more or less pulled my hide out of the fire and for that Gary , I;m gratefull to ya ! I did the A M T wyllis as a service truck for the Amoco Projek down in Dioramas . Yeah , I need to post some mo pictures too. Ed Shaver -

Todd, I wish you had spent some time with the builder of the 40's Tractor trailer rig andhe Heavy Duty Step van in the forground . First he has some unique styling talets going on there ! Ed Shaver -
What a history lesson guys , thanks to everyone as I saw the old Ertil kits back in the day but I never built any of them. did see a built example of the International Transtar tractor once and I was impressed with the detail. The builder had done a replicia of te truck he was currently driving all through the mid west .

Eelco , take a Belt sander and rough out the particle board a bit and spread Bondo out over the board . You can then " Finish Sand " the bondo and usea mix of black and several greys to create a decent asphalt finish . By the way which engine did you chose to put into the 56 Ford ? Ed Shaver

Okay! Us VW folks can't WAIT for this!!
Eshaver replied to MrObsessive's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
use me , But WHY does theV W Box kit remind me of the 23 window kit that ws avalibleback around 1968 here in the states . I did the Van like the Corvair Green briar van that wasused in the movie Phyc Out with the Strawberry Alarm Clock doing most of the music . Great movie and a great kit too. Ed Shaver -
Alyn, what a spectacular trip back in time sir ! I'm thouhoughly impressed what with the level of detail on a very delicate kit . The gold reminds me of the G M Motorama Oldsmobile Delta 88 back in the mid fifties. Ed Shaver

Posting photos... and taking the heat...
Eshaver replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First Harry, if ya are going to post a picture of your work then you should be ready to view it from SOMEONE ELSES EYES ! You have presented a well thought out post . I would also say that a little common sense goes a heck of a long way too. For example , if you post a picture of something here that has Obvious flaws, why are you exposing your self to ridicule ? Now only when do I see a model that dosent need to be on here would I ever say anything really negative . Yes, I have posted a few comments about " Low- Riders " and some cars with Bling Wheels . Look, I am simply not into them and I never will be . Still, I wouldn't make blanket putdowns asI certainly wouldn't some one doing that to me . Just remember , a camera sees exactly whats in front of it ! It sees every unsanded line and every paint run. look before yapost !!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver -
I am convinced that there is something to the theory of Re-incarnation . The more I study antique methods of developing photographic films ad the hobby that obsesses me with gasoline pumps , well, I'm convinced that I have seen some of this stuff way before and I have no earthly idea why either. Now dont ya'all tell me Ive been listening to too much Art Bell stuff eiter . I may be near sixty years old but things , well........ go figgure ! Ed Shaver Hey how bout some mo pichers of the truck , its so pleasing to these eyes !

I think I want to learn to cast--
Eshaver replied to jfh's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
J second the Aluminite Kit idea for te simple reason tat you mentioned Ford Flat head pieces . Look I still work on Flat heads ! I own a 53 Ford truck too. Yep , Mabellene an me been together fer twenty something years . I have driven it from Richmond Va to Dallas Texas and back five times too . Hey try some one piece " Slush " molds first . then if the feel for doing morecomlicated stuff gets to you contact a company called Synair . They manufacture several Epoxy resins used in the dental and Taxidermy industry . I found their products to be better tan Aluminite for some jobs and Smoot-on avalible from Mico Mark is said to be a reliable resin too . In a pinckh I havemade one piece molds and crammed in Bondo too ! Hey for something that dosent need too much detail, dries fast and works with Super Glue too . Ed Shaver -
Wayne, youneed to come visit Tappohanock Virginia on state route 3. there is a fellow that hasan old 30's Texaco station that also sold cars at one time , He has turned it into a beautiful Chrysler Garage . he has a " Lil Red Truck " a Dodge Daytona , several Super Bees and some Valiants out back . I would love to stop but since I'm on so tight a sceduele , I cant . Mabye I can get you a picture some time . You're garage and the surounding area looks outstanding ! Ed Shaver

It's time to take a break when ....
Eshaver replied to Foxer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think thats one of the primary reasons that both Snap- On and Matco did the Coloredhandles as opposed to Snap - On's Black and Matco Maroon. I bpught a slew of new screw drivers and pry bars off both distributors years ago when they did . I still like the grip on Snap - On better though . No you are not alone sir, FAR FROM IT !
