Gotta hand it to you there , very nice ! You have a very interesting assortment of parts there as the truck , the boom hoist and the wrecker bed are actually of very different eras . The truck is I beleive a 73 Chevroltt 3500. The Boom hoist is a Holmes 3205 EARLY hydraulic that was a royal pain to work on in it's day as parts were unobtainable . They came out in about 1975. They provided the basis for Jer- Dann , Century and later Challenger to compete against Ernest Holmes in the Hydraulic boom field . Yes as a former wrecker driver and towing company owner these booms were a blessing in many respects . Still ,when they mal- functioned usually at odd hours in the night , you had problems a cigarette and coffee could never fix . Meanwhile , Chevron a minor player in wreckers came along about 1980 as Roll - Back wreckers were really taking off and Jerr Dann was selling the best in that time too. O K enough nostalga , I had my fill of lock outs flat tires and recovering cars out of fish ponds used in store robberies ! I got married , not sure why and sold the tow trucks , not sure of them either ! Ed Shaver

70 Coronet "Pitchfork" hood
Eshaver replied to dencon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey guys , stop the argueing for just a minute ! I want to know if someone will do a " PLAIN JANE " hood for this ride as I had one when I sold Chrysler products new in 1970 briefly . Ed Shaver -
Regardless of a sponser , it's an interesting build . It caught my eye and I don't generally look at a lot of models as the subject dosen't appeal to me . Still this car did , so you've already beat the odds ! Thanks for sharing ! Ed Shaver

What do I need to learn to scratch build
Eshaver replied to B-dub's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Go to Plastructs web page and to Wvergreen Styereene 's webpage . Evergreen even has a conversion chart to enable you to scale anything to anything ! I sure wish I knew what V- Dub was wanting to build as I would be glad to help . Hey V- Dub you need to let me know what yer gonna build and what size man ! Ed Shaver -
these models were built several years ago and so many of you have asked me as to how many gas pump models I have actually done . Well, I guess I have pretty near 150 right now . The pump on the left is a 1930 Tokiem model 620 made from 1925 to around 1941 with a very rare Texaco 1932 Firechief Premium globe that was only made for 1932. the center pump is also a sought after pump as the company only lasted a few years . It's a 1923 Beacon 5 galllon with a one piece White Eagle / Mobil ( READ EXPENSIVE ) globe from about 1936 The pump on the right is a somewaht rare 5 gallon Dart Goward Jounior from 1925 selling Meterior gasoline , an independent jobber then . Carl/ Rodger , heck Ive been a vendor myself and I sold new Early Ford parts at the Ford shows. I know exactly where ya'all are commin from . You go to a table and a bunch of people are there and not one of them is with the merchandise you wish to purchace . Yes, I agree, it's sad as I beleive in doing things right --- THE FIRST TIME AND BEING PREPARED AND ORGANIZED . If you're gonna sell at these shows , have a plan in place to releive yourself and watch your back as well as your neighbors , it's called C Y A ! Ed Shaver

( SIGH ) annother wedge of cheese from GENERIC Motors . You're so right Bill ! Bill Mictchell, Chuck Jordan , Alfred Sloan , Heck even Miser Earl , they're all gone and whats running the company is a pitiful excuse to anyone ! These BOZOS arent automobile people , they're just a bunch of tired ole bean counters ! Ed Shaver
