  1. 2 WORDS----------------------------------------------------------------- FLAT HEAD Ed Shaver
  2. Humph..................... sum of these turds jus ned to get a life. Iffin they don't like it hey they have the option to build something that they do like ! They also have the option to not look at the pictures and make a comment as well. Hey, if the subject matter dosen't excire ya , move on Brutha! As many kinds of styles as we have here on this forum ., there absoloutely HAS to be something out there that appeals to your taste ! With that, Im going to now pull the cylinder head off my 78 Ford F-100 .............. Ed Shaver
  3. RIGHT ON BILL RIGHT ON ANDY ya''ll said fer me ! good job ! Ed Shaver
  4. HUMM................. I think Harry Pristolink should be put in charge of styling at Government Motors corperation , what ya'all think.......? Ed Shaver
  5. CHILLY - WRITE BIGGER - PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm almost sixty been where a heck of a lot of model buildes wouldn't care to go. Eyesight gettin the best of me these days . Now lets go build sum models an WELCOME! Ed Shaver
  6. Dave, I like the way you did the oil tanker . Ed Shaver
  7. Very interesting ...................... Roland and Martin would have said in the day................... Ed Shaver
  8. Do you know that is the first time I have ever seen some one actually build that version of that car? I had the origional version back from 65 too, well years ago before the Hurricane came through Richmond Virginia m flooded most al of the east end . Ed Shaver
  9. Hey, I was too busy manufacturing Custom Van accessories when the Monogram 1926 Mack Tanker came out origionaly with those neat Texaco decals too!. I had both a 65 Chevrolet and a 66. I swore by both cars too, probably the best ones I ever owned ! The only problem I ever had awas the glass leaked on both. O K G M finially learned how to install glass that did better ............. The Cutlass, I will probaby buy one of simply to have in my collection . I think that the 68-9's were far prettier but hey, thats my opinion. Ed Shaver
  10. Some of these cars have been sugested but I will second their posts with the Packard Show car , the Studebaker Coupe Express Pick Up , 50 Studebaker and some Chrysler's and Oldsmobiles of the Depression era. I would also like some of the G M Motorama Show cars but I think realisticly, it;s a long shot . More to the point though , Dodge Pick Ups from the 50's How bout a mid Fifties Ford F-100 ? I would buy models of any "Early " Van or Panel Delivery. Yes that includes the wierd Hump back Dodges too. Ed Shaver
  11. Dave, George , uh hemmmmm............. Uh we had dem Vans anna Pick ups ! Yeah we had real stuff till Elvis took a powder and went to the Great gas station in the sky with hiss Cadillac. Sure we had to deal with stupid A I R pumps E G R Valves Feed Back carburators and Lean Burn Puters , but hey , Trucks was still fun............ I'm reminded of that every day as I spend a little time each day trying to find a few obsure pieces for my 1978 Ford F-100. The beauty of working on this truck is evident as small thjings like pulling the spindles down and cleaning the rust out makes the truck so much easier to steer as it came with no power steering . Eventually , I will tacle the pinho;e rust on the body but for the time being, unrusting an old gasoline sending unit and making it work again is a total joy to me !
  12. Jes do me one favor ..... don't let the child grow up to be a wrecker driver like I did ! I'ts murder on de back ! Ed Shaver
  13. Harry, knowing C B , he will now try and train the cat to buid the models he dosen't have time to build ! Ed Shaver
  14. Chuck, I grew up in a family of Moonshine runners , Hot rod builders and sheetmetal master craftsmen. I can say with all due respect that I'm proud of my talents and accomplisments as I don't have a need to copy someone elses work. Mimick , yes is an apt word as I mimicked by watching others as they performed their duties growing up. Thats how I learned to paint and do sheet metal . I also learned mold making the same way. I never wanted to be like the guy down the street, I wanted to be ahead of the curve . If you look at what I build , sure I build a lot of replica stock vehicles. Still I do a wale of a lot of scratch building as some of the replica stpcks I have in my collection were never modeled . I build gasoline pumps because for one, I admire the "Art" or uniqueness of pumps that graced the streets of the 20;s and thirties . Same goes for buildongs of thje same period. I have always admired Art Deco.......... Ed Shaver
  15. Jody you might want to try Eastwood tool supply as for a can to spray with. They now sell a refillable spray can that you can put your paint into , fill with air and spray a small touch up area on a 1-1 car . I use Eastwood as they have great service and the quality is always there . I have also found that their technical or trouble shooting personel are pretty sharp also. They have free catalouges ,givem a try Eastwood tool and supply in Pensylvania Ed Shaver
  16. You know , this is starting to sound too much like Shoptalk @ old gas ,com , a gasolone pump and collectables forum I belong to Instead lf rebuilding gas pumps and enjoying the darn things al I see are the same whiney crybaby Speculators whom back in the 80's were bidding up Muscle cars ! What has happened to us having a hobby ? Hey Greg if this is where the forum is headed , please delete my name , cancel the account , I'm gonna go fishin ! Ed Shaver
  17. Hey, remember ther reason everybody went with the bucket seats in the first place . For those too young to remember . the seat would protrude over wher the stick " NOrmally " came through the floor board . Not until Hurst FINIALLY Came out with a stic for the 55=57 Chevrolets dod you have the option of leaving the seat un altered or change to buckets as most fplks of the era did . Ed Shaver
  18. Chuck, this is a GOOD THING because back in the day so to speak , people ran what they could . Sure there were sped parts , same as now but I really think that there was a whole lot more creativity as opposed to now . I see the kids today run copies of each others work as if it were a mini assembly line . I saw this appear as J C Whitney and Honest Charle advertise " Custom products " in the middle sixties . Saw it more when I was the owner of a Van accessory manufacturing business. One interior looked almost identical to another ! I said this to Eelco I beleive a couple of weeks ago, " Run what ya brung ". Im redoing a 1978 Ford F-100 not to stock but I will retain the Wimbleton White paint and engine . I found some "Mag Wheel " hubcaps that were a factory option in both 1978-9 and I want to employ them on the truck . I think I know where I can still obtain the "Burl" formica that matched Ford's dashboards of the day too. I probably will build a coffee cup holder and Cassette tape storage bin from that too. Either way, people will recognize it as mine and not one of many........... Ed Shaver
  19. I have no knowlege of seeing one Chuck unless one of the Resin guys did one ........... Ed Shaver
  20. Well Harold , if ya get down to this side of the Mason - Dixion Line and yer looking for someone who actually has contracting experence , look me up. I owned my own cabinet building company and I used to do do floors, Vynil , and sometimes roofing . I always hated the roofing cause it was so darned hot by mid day.. Besides , I need to buy stuff for my 1-1 model, a 1978 Ford F-100 !!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  21. Tufftone , because the box you're going to do is longer, ho about a longer chassis too? Ed Shaver
  22. Eric, had those cars run in a race, I bet they would have suffered the same damage. Hey leave well enough alone and preserve their heritage as you can remember your dad from his builds ! Ed Shaver
  23. Yep he's right . I sent a guy some model T stuff to do a hot rod in Canada last week . Sinse he was doing a rod I provided him with drawings to take the pick up cab from the old M P C 1929 Ford Model A and graft it to the A M T 1927 Model T Touring car. Yes , it;s easier than you might think . I sat around with one cup of decent coffee and figgured it out . Gary If nessesary I can send you a copy of the same drawings I did for the guy in Canada . By the way, I have completed both a Stock Willys Coupe Americar and a Stock , well near stock Willys Truck thanks too you Gary for the Amoco Projek . Ed Shaver
  24. " A MIND , A TERRRIBLE THING TO WASTE !!!!" Ed Shaver
