Also , I've included a shot of W W II gasoline ration stamps . the globe lens was from Amoco's leaded regular grade of gasoline , similar to the Red Crown in the Mid west. The salt and pepper shakers will show everyone what premiums were offered with a 1940's fill up. They also verify the colors for gasoline pumps of the era too. There are two shots of the station in silver base . This helps to enhance the white paint I will shoot over the top of that . Well, I for one was delivering the Richmond News Leader, now defunct . Somewhere I still have a copy of the paper too. As for car model, yes , Budd Anderson , I had some correspondence with him while he was at A M T . Even today I miss his miscellaneous ramblings in the magazines , he had a lot to say , a lot of it good advice ! Ed Shaver

Years ago, Revell had a 23 Window van that had the hinged side doors . it was very well detailed and I wish I still had it today as i painted it with Psychedelic graphics of the time . If that is the same 1960's tool , I would say buy it as it was a decent model kit . Ed Shaver

Actually, I have done all of the aforementioned . Yes , you can clear over the decals with lacquer. I do it as a precaution on old decals or decals that were printed on a Bubble jet printer . Ed Shaver

I for one like the manuals . At least ya can slow the car down as in coming off the hills in northern Arizona . try that or at least Chalk hill over on I-20 just in Dallas Texas ! Yeah a car pulling another car with overheated brakes -------------------------------------NOT A GOOD COMBINATION ! Ed Shaver

Uh, Lil Squirt, I've had indifferent results from silicone sealant molds over the years . Pretty much all the time , the sealant will adhere to the parts like they're hangin fer dear life! I have had the best luck with either the Red or the Black. I dunno, what the difference is there as far as chemicals but the copper and the clear are out of the question. You can also use plain Epoxy fiberglass resin too! Yes , it's sticky as you pull it out of the mold but if you spray clear Testors lacquer on it , it works fine . I have been casting gas pump globes like this for several years using this material. In fact if there isn't a whole lot of fine detail you can also shovel in Bondo into yer mold . Yep it works too. Kinda grainy but it looks like a cast iron piece . Try that , see if any of that helps . Meanwhile I'm back to trying to build a door for the Amoco project. Ed Shaver

It's really more like ten column inches . if your not sure what column inches are , go to the news paper and talk to the production people . I wish you a great deal of success sir ! Yesterday, I spent pretty much the entire day trying to find a digital printer kiosk that I could at least figure out how to use . I was a THREE, COUNTEM , THREE different drug stores and then Two more drug stores with a competitor . The first three wanted a Pin number that I wasn't provided with . each time , clerks were oblivious and really weren't interested in assisting me in any way. I was very forth coming each time I came into the store as I explained to the clerk that I had several C D 's and I would need to view each one to see which C D had prints to save . Apparently none of them understood perfect English or they were too dang busy looking bored! After three drugstores , I made the mistake of going to the main county library! Hey kids , STAY AWAY FROM CHESTERFIELD COUNTY LIBRARY IN VIRGINIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew........................................................ That bunch there are absolutely the absolute worst of the worst ! I went through their little speel of signing up for a new library card as I tore up the last one the last time I attempted to use one of their computers in 1999. Well, the Bureaucrats had all of my information about when I had visited their facility but none of them could explain which buttons , windows or anything else do use on their computers to even find where the C D holder was either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile the clock is ticking off as one is limited to a one hour visit on the computer . I finally just threw up my hands as I couldn't even get a Librarian to show me what folder to use to publish my pictures ! These two were too busy looking BORED TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait a minute , My real estate taxes go to pay their job , or don't they ????????????? I went to Wal Mart in utter disgust and bought a new printer that I really can not at this time afford . Yes , i figured out how to use the printer to do some real simple stuff on it and I guess I'll,l re size the prints somewhere down the road . You know , I was in the Custom Van accessory business for several years . I made it a point to listen to my customers as THEY were the means to a paycheck! I still have a bumper sticker on my toolbox from Kanter Auto Supply In Boonton New Jersey. It says , "Do it Once and Do it Right ". You know , whenever I need parts for my 53 Ford , I always will call them first ! The reason is simple , THEY CARE !!!!! Ed Shaver

I posted a picture of the Amoco station in silver primer because many of the previous pictures some how got deleted today in my photo bucket account .
