Clifford, there was a gentleman who built one of these several years back and would display it with the box. I need to dig out the shots I have of it and then send them to you . I wish I could find one of these myself that's NOT Meusuiem priced . Palmer actually had some real beauties back the day as you have shared with us here !

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
Eshaver replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Dave , keep in mind , there are a FEW here that that one millimeter will make for a slew of hate mail , both to you , us here , and to Moebius model workers . With that said , I just ran out of coffee, a REAL dilemma ! -
Michaels 50% off coupon!
Eshaver replied to Miserable Soul's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Jeff, Michaels may have models where you are in Canada . The Michaels near me has had the same set up I KNOW FOR A FACT for the last eight years . About the only thing I ever buy from them anymore is some Foam Core and paint -
Guess what folks , I HAD to stop working back in 2000. I was making close to 600.00 a week and that was after paying out all the taxes too. Today, I too am on a fixed income . Been building models since 1960 myself . Yes, gasoline USED to cost me .19c a gallon too, change is inevitable .............................

Michael, the one thing to remember in resin is Casting Rubber . unfortunately, some if not all "Pulls " will ultimately destroy a mold in short order . Some sooner , some later . The average on a typical body used to be about 35-40 pieces per mold . The resin is somewhat cheaper , however , not by that much. The "GOOD " Rubber that is required to do a 1-25th scale body probably runs about 100.00 a pound . A mold to do a typical body , uh about 200.00 .Now , add gasoline to do shows , vendor fees, door prizes , ( Usually required to promote good will ) motel , dine out food , wear an tear on the truck to transport and it costs REAL Money . I oughtta know . I manufactured van accessories in the 1970's .

The tire idea makes sense . I liked the Yellow that Ed Roth had on the box art .

Phantom Ford econoline van
Eshaver replied to crazyjim's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Jim, you aren't' too far off from duplicating a van I knew years ago . A fellow whose name I forget now in the old Metro Van Club in Ft Wuthlass Texas did such a van , yep drove that evil ride on the street too! As I recall, his was "Resale " Red with a Black interior . Nice model ! -

You ever get ahead of yourself ?
Eshaver replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dale , I do the same as most of my stuff is completely scratch built. When you do an entire building , have it lighted , have a lot, ( Base for model to sit on ) figures , cars , i't becomes a project an a half .................. -
As for making this one stock, yes, with minor modification to probably the frame I would say so . I made a near stock 53 Ford panel by using the A M T 53 running gear and the monogram, now Revell 55 panel body . The only issue I have with the Monogram - Revell Panel body is the top is too dang FLAT. The Pick up, kinda so ....................

Ed Roth's '56 Ford Pick-up by Revell
Eshaver replied to Austin T's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Casey, truthfully, I would have to look at the 56 Ford truck I built years ago and then walk out to the drive and look at a real fender . Since the Model I have is safely stored currently , I can't comment on the rear fender . -
Ed Roth's '56 Ford Pick-up by Revell
Eshaver replied to Austin T's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Casey, I built the original issue . Built it stock too. Yes, I'm not going to say it was anywhere an easy task . The same issues that plagued that truck continue to be the kit's downfalls today . I never could accept the "Bug Eyed" grille or the way the top of the windshield was cut in . Look, I've owned these trucks as 1-1's . I still own a 53 . For what it's worth to one here , THIS Truck was the first Ford since 1950 to offer a "Factory " Chrome grille too. Since you have the 1962 Box , did you notice the tooling similarities between the Mickey Thompson kit engines and the Optional Pontiac engine in that issue ? I think they may be the same tooling . -
I'd much rather have a coffee with a real gentleman like Gene Winfield .....................

Breathing Styrene
Eshaver replied to Speedfreak's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gene , if you suffer from asthma , Emphazemiea or other related C O P D, I recommend wearing protection. I have a case of onset Emphazemiea myself , not from cigarettes, it's a result of being in the Graphic arts business and then the Body and Fender repair business. . I was diagnosed years ago with Lead dust in my lungs . The Bondo simply added to that fact . I work usually on the back porch when using Plastic Auto Body filler now . -
1963 ford econoline vango..
Eshaver replied to ridinframe's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Hey, when I see a REAL market for Van Parts , I'll happily re start my manufacturing business once again. The day I signed over the papers to a long time customer of mine and relinquished control of my parts business in Dallas was indeed a DARK day for ALL vanners in the Gulf Coast . I'd run into people for several years asking when or if I would return to making parts . -

1963 ford econoline vango..
Eshaver replied to ridinframe's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I would think a fair to midddlin market could be said for a 61-8 Econoline van. There is already a following on the H A M B over Econolines of this vintage and there are two van message boards devoted to BOTH the Econolines 69-74 and earlier vans of all kinds . Provided I could get something near stock out of it , I'd be interested ................. -
I have a son with AS burgers . When he gets an idea , he decides things have to be immediate . Trying to teach this child that patience is an important life tool to me is about as frustrating to get city government to be "REASONABLE ! " .......................

James, jus remember Chrysler has always played EXTREME "Hardball " with their "Take " on anything concerning the company . I'm still in a quandary over the time Chrysler was solely responsible for the sudden cancellation of a 1987 Re- issue of the old Hogan's hero jeep . I also was in Raleigh North Carolina when U S Customs agents raided vendors and confiscated any and ALL Chrysler memorabilia at a large swap meet . This could have a bearing on any new Chrysler models . Generally speaking, "Prototype " models usually don't have that strong a following as say a vintage production vehicle ...................

1963 ford econoline vango..
Eshaver replied to ridinframe's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Well, I have documentation on Chrysler actually measuring a Ford Econoline when they finally retired their "Full size " panel deliveries . Chrysler simply adapted their slant six into a re skinned Ford with a one piece windshield . Go up underneath a 64-70 Dodge A van and see the similarities ...............
