Oh yeah, do you have the JUNKMAN 51 Mercury 1/18 in the movie box? Seems like that would be a great addition to your collection if not. It's a nice bright orange metallic, based on teh Amercan Graffiti kit, if memory serves. I'd havae to look at mine again to be sure.

I have this ssame one in blue "poly". Not sure which blue it is supposed to represent, Lemans, Marina, etc. Just the same old medium metallic every diecast mfr has a giant tank of. I think I'm gonna sell it as I found my 65 plastic built up. Smaller, takes up less space, etc. What that said, the interior conversion is magnificent! That's almost inspriring enough to make me do that to mine! I do like the green, even if it's not a prototypical color.

Re-engineering Monograms Lotus Esprit...new update!
randyc replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Oh Ben, go ahead and dive in. Just know that there are issues you will have to face. I did a thread as well, using Dann's information here, and solved issues on my own as well. Deciding how to get the ride height resolved early is very important on this kit. And if you are even considering a tire change, do it early so you have that out of the way. -
I have that Vette and feel it is a fairly spectacular piece. This is my favorite body on the Vette, with the C2 rear and C1 front. If I have my Gens correct. You get the idea though. And yes it could be something other than red, but I suppose the Mints got a really good deal on red, white, and metallic blue 'cuase there are an inordinate amount of mint cars in these colors. Plus they were probably the most popular with collectors? Or at least they popped on display? My wife doesn't like red cars, so I have to be cautious about how many red cars we add. Whatever it takes to keep her remotely interested in my hobby, eh? Great score.

Heck, there is ONE photo of this car. Who's to say this is NOT right for the week after? Or the week before? I still like the project.

Nice set of police vehicles.

I've been in that of late as well. Too many projects to be excited about. But in my case, it just ends up with several things started, nothing finished. I try to keep it to 3. One long term, one USA car, and one sports car. And everything is straight outta the box (mostly). The long term project is the Mincraft Triumph TR3A. That is a lot of work just to make the body crisp. I really hate it most of the time. But it's for a friend. So I press on.

Chassis Upgrade for AMT ‘66 Ford Falcon
randyc replied to ToyLvr's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
AMT 67 mustang? I used it under my 66 Mustang and it worked. This photo is in the 66 Mustang thread in the car review section. : -
I may have changed direction there - not sure yet. I also have a local graphics lady that I may get to make me a few of those and see if I can make them work from her. I used to own all that stuff myself, but closed my shop and sold it all. Back then, I was doing all race cars or white lerrs so the whites wouldn't help me.

I like the Capri. Will also be glad to see that one with some detail work. See how much better it can be.

I wanna see the Capri

Looks good.

Ok here's where I am today. After the glue dried, I didn't like the trim on front fenders. Tried to file and scribe, but it just didn't match the sides. So.... I scribed and sawed a groove, using the seam. Into that went a piece of .010 x .040 strip that I was able to file down. Also saw that with the chassis out of body that drivers side has a pretty severe warp at bottom. Standard heating and bending helped. No photos of that. It did break the little joint at rear, so I redid it and tried to reinforce. We'll see how that works. My photos never come out in order but you can see what I did.

Ah, ok. When I had a graphics business, dealers would ask me to do SS stripes on various Chevies. Usually late Camaros. Thanks for straightening me out on that.

Your welcome. There are a lot of people here who know aLOT about the details of cars. Most will be glad to help with a detail if you ask. Stock around and keep sharing your heart builds. Being European, you are doing things we may not always think of and you are probably inspiring some builds along the way. I'm glad you're here.

Ok, what were the hood/trunk stripes called? I've never seen hockey and top stripes together. Its over the top, so to speak.
-
I scored a 53 caddy and a blue Duesenberg that will be in soon. Caddy will likely give up its wheels to my Jada 58. Duesy? Not sure yet. May also be a parts car.
-
Not sure I'd go that far... The Bugatti is another one that can be found reasonably priced. I've had and sold two of them for profit. I have none at the moment.

So really, it is just a 69 350 SS/RS? And happens to be white with orange? No real Indy connection from the mint, just the colors. I have one, too. There are a lot of them out there, for sure. At every price point. Mine came from a consignment shop. Maybe the cheapest one ever. Needed new tires and cleaning. But a fine car to have. I also have the blue convertible and a yellow NAPA car with hockey stripes AND SS stripes. Like they couldn't decide and put all the stripes on there. Good score Gramp's.

Great little kit. And I do mean little. Built model will sit easily on my phone screen. Moto G6. And fun. Nothing like a kit that almost falls together.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I do appreciate it.

Wow, gray and pink never crossed my mind. But pink over gray might work! What about a Gasser painted like an LA lowrider? Blown with injection? I'm liking Hypersonic Heffalump.

This one is just scribed deeper. No further coloring. And moebius molded them pretty deep and wide to start with. Thanks for the compliments

Wish I had some of those WW transfers we were talking about - working on a car that needs them!

I wanna see that! I don't wanna build it though - you do that!
