Better tires for HH Slim 20's
JamesW replied to camaroman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Aoshima tires maybe. I know some of them had a little bit of a bigger sidewall. The only problem there is, actually gettin the just the tires for a decent price. -

Memorial Day Weekend is here
JamesW replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, my job consists of me being on the road with those morons. People around here can't drive when they're sober, I'd really hate to be out there when everyone has a beer in their lap playin bumper cars. -
Memorial Day Weekend is here
JamesW replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My plans............... I gotta work all weekend. Which brings to mind all the people that think this holiday is all about seeing who can drink the most. (Yes, there are some out there, unfortunatly). Please, if you're gonna drink, don't drive. -

JamesW replied to bodeen2012's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I've got the R/T that will be on the bench soon enough, so I'll be watching this. I'll be using Aoshima wheels on mine. -
Looks a lot like downtown here on the third Friday of every month during the summer.

Here you go.

WOW, that's very surprising. I know that she was a middle man (woman). She had a supplier that cast the parts, but she never listed them unless she had them in hand. I had many conversations with her about possibly getting a hood made that I haven't seen yet. With 82 almost consecutive neg I wonder if she is actually ok and not in the hospital or worse. One time it took a while to receive my hoods but she emailed me and was very appologetic for the delay. I guess I am one of a very few that hasn't had serious issues.
-
I've bought from her MANY times without a problem, under the different seller id's too. I've bought at least 10 hoods over the last year or so with no problems at all. In fact, she went out of her way to help me with a problem with one, and sent a new one at no charge. As for wheels, I search Ebay DAILY. there's always something new. I'm partial to Aoshima wheels, they have MANY different styles.

I never gave a second thought to those choppers, but for $5 I'd buy one too.

Lonestar beater FINISHED!
JamesW replied to Chuck Most's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
It's a shame what you did to that truck, but it sure does look good. -
I want one of those 4 post lifts.

Hmm, OK, tell me why?
JamesW replied to prostockmania's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It honestly makes me wanna list some of my kits. There's obviously at least ONE person out there dumb enough to pay an outragous amount for a somewhat readily available kit. -

I gotta admit, this looks really good so far. I just can bring myself to do this to a kit that costs as much as they do. -

Umm, yeah, I'd like an answer to that too. That's ridiculous. Either way, I bet the seller is VERY happy. -
All I've gotten from him so far is a couple of the Reese hitches. I totally agree he has some flawless stuff. Will definatly be getting more from him in the future.

Good idea Brian, I hadn't thought of that. -
How do I replicate the finish on these T tops
JamesW replied to Nick Winter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Are you starting with clear parts, or are they already smoked? If they're clear the best thing I can suggest is getting a can of Nightshades from your local auto parts store. Don't know how well you'd get the mirrored effect cuz I've never used the stuff, YET. -
#7 or #8 for 2012, not sure, lost count. The rim centers will eventually get the gunmetal treatment as well.

The problem with Armour All is it attracts dirt. -
What are your biggest distractions?
JamesW replied to wgflatliner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Until recently I'd say my computer (which I try not to take to the shop with me) and TV (don't have one in the shop, YET). But I've actually finished 6 or 7 builds this year already. It's been a great year as far as building in concerned. Other areas of my life on the other hand have gone to hell, which might actually slow the building down as the depression kicks in.
