  1. Thanks guys, I never thought about the propellant thing, I've been a painter of full size cars since '67, & though I'd seen about everything there was to see,. I have had problems on a full size Cadillac with cratering due to solvent popping due to too much material & the top coat sealing before it could gas out enough, but that looked like tiny fish eye in the finish. On the subject of covering fish eye if you do get it, it will cover much easier if you just mist on a couple of coats until the paint sticks, then lay on your heavy coat to flow the finish out.
  2. Beeeautiful blue, what color/brand is it?
  3. Has anybody had a problem with Tamiya paints pinholing in the finish coat? I just painted a model in the Chrome yellow, and just after laying down the final wet coat, it appeared that the paint started to wrinkle in a few places, after letting it dry for 24 hours I proceeded to color sand w/2000 wet paper & it looked as if it was solving the problem but on close inspection the paint in the affected areas have very minute pinhole like the pain had tried to "air out" & caused the appearance of wrinkling. did I put the wet coat on too heavy, or too soon, or what. Thanks for the answers, I know I'll get a few.
  4. Have fun & enjoy. Just don't come back with the story that you must have done good, you drove there in a 10,000 dollar car, & came home in a 50,000 dollar bus.
  5. I'm probably gonna be wrong this time, but I have to say it's a model, it just has that feeling.
  6. If you have a local KB Toy Liquidators store they can be a good source of Maisto diecasts, also you can check Wal Mart, ours has some of the 1/24 Maisto cars for $5.98.
  7. I have to say ,,,,MODEL. Methinks that the rivets on the steering wheel are a little big, & the interior detail on those Weber carbs look a bit strange.
  8. I don't know if we're ever gonna find out, but I say model, the tie rod ends are kinda funky for real.
  9. I'm gonna say real, but there is something about those end panels on the rear wing that just don't look right..... carbon on the outside, aluminum on the inside? might just be a REAL good build.
  10. I have to go with real, but I believe it is bagged, not hydraulics.
  11. I think that's a ringer, I say real.
  12. Thanks for the info, I appreciate any pictures that can shed light to what is in the box before I have to put out the cash.
  13. If you can find some of the "Homies" figures, most of their dogs are in pretty much the right scale, unlike the people that are a little small.
  14. I was wondering the same thing, I can remember spending hours in my advanced art class in high school making those things, I don't think the teacher ever figured out that I was selling them to other students. (Sorry Mr. Moore)
  15. I would say that it's a real one, I saw a1:1 reproduction at last years "Kool April Nites" in Redding, by the way it's coming the 13th thru the 20th of April. The week after is the "Hotorarama" at the fair grounds in Anderson will be the weekend after, & it has a model contest/show.
  16. I bet the guy with the bag has stock in "Fruit of The Loom"
  17. I followed the build up of this on Fred's forum, but I like the changes you did to the numbers, this is one of the nicest, & most detailed builds that I have seen in quite a while, keep it up!!!
  18. Niiice, I like the "modern" stretch look, you nailed that one!
  19. Great job, I can remember a family friend that bought a new '58, in a metallic pink & white two tone, it was quite striking.
  20. Great job! You should post this at Freds forum also,. It's nice to see a real race car (one that runs on dirt) on the forum.
  21. Nice build, I recognize it as a short track late model asphalt model (dirt track racers usually have treaded tires) LOL
  22. Great job, if it is not out of line, could I inquire as to the color of paint this was done in? I am a sucker for reds.
  23. I was a little surprised to see that Revell chose to put a later model Cad motor/trans combo in instead of just molding their excellent Cad parts pack motor in white (with the usual chrome dress up parts) & put it in, it would be a little more contemporary.
  24. You can pick up "silver" solid solder for plumbing at any home hardware, & at Walmart, it is very bright, & polishes up easily. Only problem is it comes in 3/32, & 1/8 inch sizes.
  25. All of the late Mercedes that I've got have all had the matte finish on the chrome, it didn't matter what manufacturer it was. I don't think that you will like this kit, want to make you're money back? (LOL)
