You don't have to fake it, the kit is a Bel-Air, just a sedan, not a hardtop.

Smack your LHS guy up aside the head, & tell him there are other things in the industry than R/C stuff, & you would greatly appreciate him gettin' a few of these on order. -
Daisy Dukes '74 Road Runner Has Been Released!
horsepower replied to Custom Hearse's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I f you think that using the li'l bird decal on the model would be free advertisement could you please sell that idea to Goodyear,NASCAR,General Motors, etc.? I think you're right, but that isn't the way the ol' dollar deflates. -
Daisy Dukes '74 Road Runner Has Been Released!
horsepower replied to Custom Hearse's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Are you trying to tell us that once you got old enough to appreciate Daisy Duke that all of the blood left your brain, & you passed out? -
Actually, it comes with both, & the stock full wheel covers, & they also fixed the molding around the rear window on this body, it shows real definition. But since this is a Bell-Air, & not a 210 I think that the chrome trim around the side windows is incorrect on the box, shouldn't there be a stainless trim at the top, & bottom of the side windows from front to rear?

New style superchargers in resin??
horsepower replied to doublej's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I could be wrong but isn't the Kenne-Bell supercharger on the Super Snake? Or is it just a larger version than is on the GT 500 KR? The one on the Super Snake is quite difference in appearance than the one that is on the 500, the one on the 500 is more like the one on the Lightning Pickup. -
Real or Model #126 FINISHED!

If this isn't real, they really nailed it, among other things the glass is just perfect, not a sign of distortion anywhere! I am going with real on this one. -
Maybe we should just wait a little while, we may see some of these kits reissued with all of the good parts at a later date, I understand that they are currently planning just such a release of the '55 Nomad, I'm sure more will follow, as existing modelers, we should welcome chance to get some newbies into the hobby, without them, there will be no one making any kits period.

I bet they're brass wood screws, not rivets. -
Real Or Model #124 Finished!
horsepower replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
This one is a real stumper, I've seen this car in other pics, but I really have to say that this is a model, a really nice one, but still a model. It's just that feeling. -
Stay with the supercharger that came on the Mustang engine, since the intake is at the back of the engine you can build an air intake that goes to the firewall, & open the cowl vent & say that is for the intake. Also, the thing that is hanging down on the mustang engine is the power steering pump, just cut it off, the alternator is on the front top center, right in the valley of the motor.

Darn! the tanker was supposed to be released on it's own, I really don't want another of those Dodge trucks, but I would like to have the chrome tanker to build a milk tanker with (I have an old set of Borden's "Elsie the cow" decals in 1/25 scale, & my daughter collects "Elsie" memorabilia .

Do you have the same problem that I do, that you have to explain yourself when you are taking the bottles of polish out to check the colors in good light, I really get some strange looks sometimes.

I wish there were, I've been trying for a couple of years to get t '71 Pinto Coupe, (they sold as the "Wonder Pony") that didn't have the rear wheel wells cut out larger for the slicks, & the best I've done is I bought one with the trimmed body, & got the MPC '74 Coupe I will use the '71 parts on the '74 (bumpers, rear & front valance) to build what I want, this is better for me 'cause the MPC kit has the side trim that was on the 1:1 car that I'm copying. The '74 MPC kits seem to sell for less than the AMT kits for some reason. I have 1 of the '74 MPC kits, 2 of the PINTERA kits from AMT, 1 '76 Pinto Runabout from AMT, & 1 of the little Wonder Pony kits from AMT, & I would trade any of the '75,or '76 kits for a '74 MPC kit, or a '71 Wonder Pony. they are all opened but complete kits.

NEW STUFF(& OLD) FROM MA's RESIN
horsepower replied to cnaind's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It's nice to see the double Paxton set back, will these have the supercharger pieces already plated? -
I agree with the other guys that thought the tires were just to "right" to be a model, or this is the first time I've seen a model that has clipped the curb a couple of times

Am I wrong or does that look like a new Camry?

Stockton International NNL Dec 6, Stockton Fairgrounds CA
horsepower replied to jbwelda's topic in Contests and Shows
How would I get on a mailing list for Bob's shows, I used to get flyer's in the mail for these shows (before Bob took over) & don't know if he does that or not. Thanks, Del -
The main problem with fitting this engine into the Nomad, is it appears that the engine is the 1/24 scale monogram big block, instead of a 1/25 scale one.

i voted real this time. The thickness of the material on the side scoops just looks right, not to thick, & if it has been thinned it is a real good job there are no variances to give it away.

To duplicate those full lenses, use a red toothbrush, and before you glue it into the modified housing, back it with bare metal foil, & not to nit pick, but the '56 Chevys didn't have chrome on the drip rails, on the Bel-Airs, the piece just below the drip rails was a stainless part, but the Del Ray, didn't have any chrome other than the front & rear windows.

A few of the people in the no, compare the other casters to the standards of "Jimmy Flintstone", if they are real nice. Meaning that if the casters are really great, they might compare in quality to some of Jimmy's stuff.

For thought on future "woody" builds, you can find some real nice milled scale moldings for the doors, windows etc. in the miniature doll house section of the local hobby crafts type stores, you also can get some very nice Cherry wood fro contrast in colors. Just an idea.
