diymirage replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
sounds like a plan harry...but you should make sure it ALWAYS opens up in a new window...just in case the door sticks -
i am perfectly situated there is one less then 5 minutes from my house that carries nothing but the basics...perfect for when i run out of styrene in the middle of a build then there is a great model shop about 45 minutes from here that carries everything i could ever want perfect for when i have some money to spend and far enough where its no temptation when i dont have the moneys

what engine is in the dodge A-100?
diymirage replied to diymirage's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
this kit has 2 V8s, that i learned today is a 273 LA and what i believe is a 426 hemi (though it may very well be a 385 hemi, the hilborn system seems more era correct for that vintage..a desoto firepower maybe?) -

what is the stars for?
diymirage replied to a/gass's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i have seen it before on a certain forum where the same system was in place but it was based on "feedback" so if i make a post that is very helpful then someone can go on my profile and leave positive feedback then on the other hand, if i were to post a terrible model (lets say a general lee with opening doors) you could leave negative feedback all this put together would make up a "score" for me that gives others a idea on how serious to take my post -
so with 2 pages of discussion on this subject, excactly how many smileys could have been posted instead ? in all seriousness, i agree, maybe not so much because of the space (after all, were not storing this on my attic) then for ease of "conversation" i also agree with all everything else said about qouting pictures maybe we can set up a system (i have seen this on other forums) where you need to have a minumum letter count for a reply to be posted in which case a smiley would be below minumum

Hilborn Mechanical fuel injection
diymirage replied to jeffs396's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
there are a few kits out there that have them one idea might be the re release from the little red wagon , this time done up as a cocacola machine it comes with a stock engine (440 ?) aswell as the hemi from the LRW with the hillborn injection (sorry, no pics) then there is the modified stockers 53 ford pickup race car hauler it comes with a great 396 firedome hemi that also has a nice hilborn injection both of these kits will supply you with a hemi with hilborn for your project AND a second engine to put in the actual build -
As for the boards not sticking into the cab... I thought about that. But felt my build corrects what I always believed was a flaw in the Hot Wheels car and a concession to it being a toy. Otherwise wouldn't they have riveted the boards to the deck and made them not removable? (Which incidentally Mattel actually DID do with the latter releases.) Thanks for posting it in the "Under Glass" section. could be i changed the date Jairus...but i dont think i did. if it was set for late july it would be a 1.5 month build which i dont think i ever did but then again, i might have too bad about the twin mill, im sure you would have made it look spot on as for the boards, i totally see your point but im not sure how i feel about it i mean, you are totally correct in saying yours is better (more life like) then the origenal but we were going for that, we were going for replicating the hotwheel not a critique at all thoug, just a though thats cool, i never knew they made a 1/50 scale series
