Went into the kitchen to make my first cup of life sustaining fluid and the fluorescent fixture does nothing , drats , now I have to replace the tubes , or so I thought . After a round of getting the wooden cover off and replacing the bulbs , still nothing , drats again , out searching in the garage for ballasts , yes , 2 , to replace the ones in the fixture . Find one and see a stack of 2X4 drop in fixtures from an office remodel that I collected from a dumpster , bingo , opened one up and it has a single 4 lamp electronic ballast , looks like a new replacement , so I take that one out and head back in to play electrician . Well . of course the wiring doesn't match up and I end up stripping the fixture , move the sockets around and rewiring to match the new ballast , it only took about 3 sessions of work a little and sit down and rest a little , it's been many years since I did any of this kind of work and I'm working over my head standing in a dinning room chair . Finally I have light again in the kitchen and I can make my life sustaining fluid .
